We came here on vacation seeking a romantic dinner in a nice bistro....Tin Angel is all of that and more. It was cozy and inviting on this unseasonably cold and rainy December night, and the staff was wonderfully welcoming. We had an excellent multi course dinner that would please the fussiest of tastes. Toward the end of our dinner, my phone received a text and when I was astonished to find it was a tornado warning!! I mentioned this to our wait person who very calmly replied that they had just been advised. That says a lot about the staff....everyone was relaxed, smiling and prepared....and all the patrons, including us, were quite happy to stay for the duration if needed because we felt safe. All except for the poor valet who, despite the fact that he was drenched and undoubtedly cold, smiling retrieved cars for a couple of folks who decided to leave. Bless his southern heart.

I ordered the BKT frittata. Great flavors that melded wonderfully once I added a generous amount of salt. Apples were left off. Potatoes were of the frozen variety. Maple wheat toast was great and generous. My husband had the Veggie Benedict. Again great flavors just needed to add salt to find them. The server was borderline hostile but efficient. Neither of the high chairs had safety straps.

The food was delicious! Fresh masterpieces. I speak truthfully. Just take a look at their menu it REALLY is ALL that! Our birthday boy ordered the Three Course Special and savored every bite. Love the set up including the waiting area. The bar is in a position that is comfortable to dine or order your appetizer while you wait for your table. As is most places in Nashville without a reservation the wait can be 10 minutes or 2 hours. This wait was an hour on Thusday night about 7:00pm. Though it did not feel like much of a wait at all. We came to town for my husbands work and visit family members. Even with a younger child the ambience was as such that no one really minded. Not too quiet. Not too loud. Not too sophisticated where one could feel improper...it was just right. Gabe our server was completely gracious and genuine. Could not have asked for a better person. The only reason I did not mark excellent is the Risotto just didn't hit the excellent mark. Some crunch to the rice. Just a few. Still delicious!! Love, love, love the fresh basil leaves!
Tip: Make reservations and bring cash for the valet tip. Their hourly wage is LESS then service staff. Our birthday boy paid 15$s to park and THEN found out there was an hour and a half wait at the first place we stopped. Here parking is free with valet, remember if we can not park we can not eat. The valet service is just as important as the rest.

Tin Angel is a restaurant that we consider being regulars. Whether for lunch or dinner, with or without reservation, you can usually get seated. The menu is always good and the fried green tomatoes appetizer is a must: we consider that they are the best you can find in town, thanks to their very tasty horseradish sauce. For lunch, a friend and I almost invariably get the chicken basil brie (yum!) and vegetable quesadilla. For dinner, we tried the potato crusted flounder, lobster and shrimp risotto, steak frites Diane, all excellent. Tin Angel is a great neighborhood gem, easily accessible with its West End location. Service is always good to outstanding and the bar is fair-priced. Don’t hesitate and visit this locally-owned restaurant!
