Description: As the oldest continuously operating restaurant in its original location in Nashville, Elliston Place Soda Shop has been part of the lives of Nashvillians and visitors since 1939 - more than seven decades. We don't feel like we are running a museum but we do feel a strong sense of stewardship to the character of Elliston Place Soda Shop. We believe we can have a menu that both feeds your sense of nostalgia while still being relevant to current tastes. The Soda Shop is known for having great milkshakes and fountain treats but also serves one of the best cheeseburgers in Nashville. We also have amazing salads and soups and every day we feature "meat & three" selections... items such as fried chicken, meat loaf, turkey & dressing with all your favorite southern side dishes. Breakfast is served everyday starting at 7am.

We were on a long trip and had been looking forward to this spot since the beginning. When we were driving through thr neighborhood toward it i started to get apprehensive, its a dingy, run down part of town. But i tried not to judge a book by its cover. We got inside and the place smelled musty and old. The waitress was nice but not very attentive. We ordered breakfast which was average at best, i was hoping for homemade, we got canned and reheated. Other than the eggs and hashbrowns and hot chocolate, which were good. Right before we left i went to use the bathroom, which is in the kitchen and a total pit. I was seriously jealous of my husbands ability to use it while standing. This place was probably really cool 10 years ago, but now, i wouldnt waste the gas it takes to get there.

Reviewed January 26, 2013

I have seen this shop every day that I go to work in Nashville but had to try it. What in the world was wrong with me!! Once I went in it was a flash back to the GREAT soda shops I use to love as a youth. It was bright and cheery and the FOOD O M G the FOOD was out of this world. Thank you for the Great Cheeseburger and Fries..

“Soda shop”

Food is not that great - The place is very dirty looking not sure how they stay ibn business. Hard to imagine that movies have been shot there don't know why they would rent the space. They must have a bleach button in photoshop.

We have eaten at the Soda Shop many many time in the past. However since Mr. Chandler sold it, the quality of the food has really gone down, and the service it not very friendly....

“Food was good.”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

Well went into Nashville and ended up at elliston. I was honestly expecting more of a soda shop feeling, but mostly it was just an old place that needed a little more cleaning and maybe a little updating. Each booth had the cool little mini jukboxes, but they didn't work:( my food was good but my hubby said his food was average...nothing much to talk about here.
