Went to Salsa on a Saturday night after an art event in Nashville and had a great time. Latin music band was great and service was outstanding. Looking forward to going back to try new menu items. Nice addition to Music City Center restaurant scene.

Somehow it seemed bigger, cooler, more interesting from the outside. When I entered, it just had an industrial feel to it. Definitely did not seem like a good date spot. The food was just ok, I had corn fritters ($8) which were good... but... eh. My entre was a chicken alfredo linguini. So I'm at a puerto rican themed restaurant and ordered linguini so you should probably just ignore me since I was obviously not there to get the most out of it, and it was fine... in a way that if I was at someone's home I'd say "this is sooo good thank you for preparing dinner for me". But it didn't rock my world and if I needed to spend $15 for dinner out to eat, Salsa wouldn't be my first stop. Service needs work, but it's a new spot, and that can be fixed. It just needs to spark more than it does.

We meet friends for dinner at the several months old eatery in the Gulch area near downtown Nashville. The restaurant has ample parking. The location should be very convenient to the new convention center and the patio should have a good view of it when the weather is better for outdoor sitting. The interior space is large enough particularly with the airy ceiling, but lacks much character. The owners have counter acted this with interesting lighting and art. Our server was informed and attentive. The menu was varied enough as was the drink menu. Our drinks were different and good. Well mine wasn't different - a mojito - but it was well made. The other cocktails ordered were more unique and all got good reviews. Our black bean appetizer was very tasty. The entrees were good. The skirt steak was probably the best thing at the table. The Puerto Rican lasagna my wife got was good. My pork was moist, but not outstanding. I enjoyed my side - majado de yuca - one of the yuca preparations. The tres leches cake was excellent. All in all the place was above average and it should do well particularly when the convention center opens.
