Owner description: Walking a mile in someone else's shoes isn't a proverb that's often put into practice, but with Echoes of Nashville you can really get in step with Music City. Wander over to 5th and Broadway, where you'll join a small group of pedestrian adventurers as an experienced guide takes you on a 1.5-mile hike through the Music City's historic past.

“Great tour of downtown Nashville”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

We enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it to visitors and residents alike. My husband is a Nashville native with a keen interest in local history and even he learned things he hadn't known before. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

“Echoes of Nashville walking tour is excellent!”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

Love history and learning about the place I visit so hoped this would be what I was looking for. It was all that and more! Took the tour with 3 Nashville residents which provided the added highlight of their perspective of the places we saw and changes over their time in the city. Jeff was our guide and he was great! Very personable, knowledgeable, and made you feel very involved by engaging you in the conversation. Loved the old pictures that he brought out to show you what the place you were standing in looked like when it was first built. He made the history fun with lots of stories and not just dates and facts. I came home wanting to learn more about Nashville and its history. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting to know about the history of a great city!

“Great tour even for Nashville residents”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

A group of us long-time Nashville residents took the Echoes of Nashville downtown walking history tour today and learned many things we hadn't known about our city and greater details about stories we were familiar with. Jeff was our guide today and we found him lots of fun and very knowledgeable. He is a qualified historian with the heart of a teacher and a real love for his city.

The Echoes team has carefully designed the tour soas to note the old among the new and show evidence of the way it use to look whenever possible. The walk was not strenuous as Jeff has picked the least steep route through downtown. Jeff was receptive to all of our questions and good at making all in the group feel welcome and part of the journey. He may not always be able to do this, but our tour today ran a little longer than the 1.5 hours slated such that he could answer all of our questions and listen to our observations.

We'll be listening to hear of any new tours Echos might add and would definitely take them as well. In the mean time, I'll continue to learn about my city by reading the Echoes blog and their Facebook posts.

As an aside, the wind whips around the buildings so bring a heavier coat than you might think you'll need during the winter months. Lots of free on street parking around downtown on Sunday.

“History of Nashville made exciting”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

We always look for walking tours when we visit new cities and are always eager to hear the history and stories that made it what it is today. Jeff's tour fit the bill perfectly.
He is very knowledgable, and extremely enthusiastic about Nashville and it's history.
And he is lots of fun, telling stories, and asking and answering questions. He had old photos to show you what was on the place you were standing today.
We would highly recommend this tour to enhance your visit to Music City

“Great tour”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

You can read a bio of Jeff, the tour guide, on the Echoes of Nashville website; this guys knows knows his stuff. Just as importantly, he gives a really enjoyable tour. It happened that my wife and I were the only folks on our tour and it felt more like a conversation with a friend than an guided tour.

Jeff had several historical photographs of sites on the route so that you could compare the past to the present. That really helped connect the historical city to the modern city and I thought that was neat.
