Owner description: Located on the spacious grounds of the Ellington Agricultural Center, the Tennessee Agricultural Museum has an extensive collection of home and farm artifacts from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Log cabins, a small farm house, a kitchen/herb garden, perennial garden and nature trail are also part of the museum tour. Summer Saturdays are fun free family friendly themed events that give kids a taste of farm life and feature everything from grooming and riding miniature donkeys, milking goats, working with a blacksmith, making soap, or stopping by the cabins to see spinning wheels and weaving looms in action. Check out the stables where Nashville’s Mounted Police stable and train their horses. Although there is an occasional small fee for some activities, such as face painting or pony or donkey rides, admission to Summer Saturdays is free.

My husband and I are both agricultural education high school teachers and corn/soybean farmers. We enjoyed visiting the ag museum. Very nice facility that allows people to look back into the past to see how things were operated. It would be nice to see more of the current way of things are but extremely nice facility, staff and information. It is free, too!

I liked the variety of activities that go on there. It's a very family-friendly place. Seeing the vegetable garden and the old farm implements is very educational. I have brought kids there for the Music and Molasses festival and they enjoyed it very much.
