“A great stay.”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

Spent 3 nights here and chose this hotel on it's location - not too close to downtown, but not too far also and with good places to eat nearby. This hotel delivered on all counts. Having 2 rooms gave you a feeling of being at home while on the road. When I booked I asked for a quiet room on a high floor - on checking in the clerk said we were at the front of the hotel away from potentially noisy bars and on the 8th floor - perfect. A very comfortable bed and furniture also - it was great sitting on a sofa instead of a 'hotel room chair'.

There was a good choice at breakfast and nothing was too much trouble for the 'cook to order' chefs or any of the staff. Everybody was very helpful - there is obviously good training in place. We used the shuttle and valet parking - again, very courteous and accommodating. There are also complimentary evening drinks and snacks - not to be missed.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Nashville and a had a very good experience. The staff was very, very friendly and helpful. This hotel is very convenient to downtown Nashville and all of the music. I was there for a business meeting but was able to enjoy the local sites and sounds. The hotel shuttle will take you downtown which is about 1 to 2 miles away. The breakfast was fabulous and the made-to-order omelets were delicious. The room was very comfortable, roomy and even though the hotel is on a busy street it was very quiet. There are several eating establishments within a block or two of the hotel so you can have a nice variety close by. I would definitely stay there again

We enjoyed our visit to Nashville and Vanderbilt University recently. Embassy Suites was definitely an excellent choice for our stay. Great proximity to V.U. - about a 5 minute walk. Excellent restaurants nearby. The manager's reception every evening was a nice treat, excellent beginning to an evening in Nashville. Complimentary shuttle rides made it easy to get to downtown attractions. Hot breakfast was nice. The chef enjoyed preparing and serving the guests. Check-in and check-out were easy.

Great place, reception nice bartenders friendly and made you welcome. Room clean, would definately stay here again. Breakfast was cooked to order, done right and was very good. Cook was clean and cleaned as she went --something the Embassy Suites Jacksonville should learn from?

Stayed here with a group attending a conference for several nights. Has all the features, benefits, service, and quality associated with Embassy Suites.

Location: The hotel location is midway between the Downtown Area (think Honky Tonks) and the Centennial Park (Parthenon). It's adjacent to Vanderbilt University. The hotel bellman/valet go out of their way to recommend restaurants and things to do. The hotel is surrounded by several eateries from bar casual to yuppie that seem to cater to the university. It's easily walkable to Centennial Park and Vanderbilt; but it's located on a busy roadway so it's not a particularly pleasant walk. The walk to Downtown is pretty far and not really recommended. Instead, they provide a FREE shuttle that runs about every 20 minutes. This is a really nice service. I took the shuttle once during the day to do some exploring and our group took it every night. We were easily able to catch taxis to return us to the hotel.

Hotel Features: The hotel is doing some renovations and we could hear hammering and such noises in our room during the afternoon and early one morning. The bedroom also didn't get much air flow at night. Had to leave the bedroom door open to the living area or else it'd be super hot.The fitness room was basic but they did have a nice hot tub. In addition to their normal free breakfast and happy hour, they also have a very nice Omaha Steak Restaurant on site. I've stayed at many Embassy Suites and it's pretty unusual to have a nice full-service restaurant on site which also provides room service.

Local Notes: it can take 10-15 minutes to call for a taxi so bear that in mind if needing to get to the airport or a meeting. The drive from the airport to the hotel is only about 15 minutes and here's a flat airport rate to downtown which is about $25. Nashville is a relatively safe city but as a woman, I'd recommend sticking to the main roads. I never felt unsafe walking alone during the day but there was enough of a sketchy population to keep me on my toes.

Traveling to visit our son at Vanderbilt, we had a great stay at this Embassy Suites. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, with a large flat screen TV in both the bedroom and sitting room, and a great king bed with plenty of pillows. The fridge and microwave were a definite plus since we were staying for 3 nights. The breakfasts were excellent... better than any other free hotel breakfasts we have had, including made-to-order omelets and waffles, plus a huge variety of fruits, cereals, meats, potatoes, pastries, and real Southern grits! The indoor parking lot is a plus, especially if it's raining (the parking spaces were a bit tight, but that's not unusual for a city hotel). But probably the most memorable thing about our stay was the genuine friendliness of the staff... not just at check-in, but throughout our stay. Everyone from the maid to the folks who cleared our dishes at breakfast always asked if we were enjoying our stay, was there anything they could do for us, and have a nice day. A true feeling of Southern hospitality! We love Nashville, and will definitely return to this hotel.

There is no need for me to tell you about Embassy Suites. The Hilton chain is always clean, the suites give substantial room for extra children or to conduct business in someplace other than your bedroom. The morning breakfast is just that, a breakfast, with fresh cooked eggs and the like. There's even a free gin and tonic or two every evening. So why this review of this Embassy Suites? Because I've been coming here for 9 years now, the result of 3 kids at Vanderbilt University. It has become a home away from home. In no small part, that's due to the staff and management. In the end, that's what makes a hotel. The GM, Brian, has been my staunch sideman through thick and thin, providing help whenever I needed it. His staff, like Theresa in the breakfast room, are folks who care about my family and I, even to the level of asking if one of us is sick when they don't make the trip. The valets help me load my car with student debris every May. It may sound foolish, but I look forward to seeing them as a much as I do my kids at Vanderbilt.

We did not choose to make this Embassy suites our base of operations. We did it by process of elimination over the years. The Hampton Inn on Elliston (same Hilton branding) was cold; the Loew's Vanderbilt did not have room layouts that would allow an extra child or two to sleep with us comfortably. Even the other Embassy Suites in the area didn't have the warmth and honest caring of Brian and his staff.

Here's the bottom line: If you're only staying at a hotel once, there's little sense of seeing beyond the obvious. But Hotel Management is an art, not a science. Some people do it better than others. That's Embassy Suites at Vanderbilt. They make an art of innkeeping.

Room Tip: The Hilton Honors floors are the most recently refurbished, though the entire property is just fine.
