“Very Nice Hotel in a Convenient Location, Great Staff”
Reviewed July 28, 2011

We stayed here for three nights while attending a concert locally.

Pros:
1. The Hotel was easy to find. Just off the Interstate Hwy.
2. The hotel is beautiful inside
3. The staff (from the desk to the valets) are excellent
4. It is in a good, safe area near Vanderbuilt U.
5. There are serveral places to within walking distance
6. There is night life within walking distance
7. The rooms are nice, clean and well appointed
8. The room rates are a good value verses what you get
9. The cable TV has plenty of channels (some places don’t)
10. The free breakfast is very good for a hotel breakfast
11. The Omaha Steak house was very good for evening meal when we did not want to go out. We called it in and went down to pick it up. It was not “over the top” expensive and the food was very tasty.

Cons:
1. The front driveway is tiny. But the valets are excellent at keeping things moving. Let them do their job.
2. Parking is not free. Go ahead and pay for valet parking since it’s only $3 more per day and you don’t have to deal with the parking deck.
3. The Internet is expensive. I have an cellular air card so I did not have to deal with it.
4. There is no pool.

I would recommend this property without hesitation. We had a very nice, stress free stay that we sorely needed without parting with too much cash.

Room Tip: Book through HHonors for the best rate.

We booked 'the last room'. They were extremely understaffed from check-in to happy hour to breakfast. Main areas were dirty and no southern hospitality to be found. The parking garage was a nightmare. The AC in our room wasn't even close to working. We were extremely disappointed and not sure anyone cared. Very untypical of our embassy suite experiences.

The only reason I rate this as "very good" as opposed to "excellent" is that the rooms are needing some updating. Everything else at the hotel meets and exceeds business travel expectations.

Rooms:
Spacious living area (sofa, chair, work desk); fridge, coffe pot, daily supply of coffee and tea; carpet is worn and oddly the upholstery of the sofa and chair (although of nice quaity) do not match

Bedroom spacious with fairly comfy bed, TV, mirrored vanity area, wifi for a fee; again, curtains and wall borders do not match

Bathroom well appointed with hair dryer, great towels, Crabtree & Evelyn shapoo, conditioner, lotion; near full-size bar soaps

Front Desk is exceptionally nice; very friendly check-in and check-out.

Valet is easy to use, friendly, and knows the area well.

The hotel has a van that if booked a few hours in advance can provide rides to/from local venues.

Business center has two computers and printers to use at no charge.

Across the street is Gigi's Cupcakes and about two blocks away is Noshville; both good places to visit.

The parking garage is tight. I wouldn't try to take a full-size truck, van, or SUV in the garage although a few were parked there.

Don't bother with Omaha Steaks (hotel restuarant). The food is overpriced and tasteless. I ordered their Blondie Brownie Sundae. Only the ice cream was edible. The brownie was so hard that I could not cut it with a knife! Walk down the street to Noshville for a better menu and much better prices.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 11th floor are quiet; 1120 has a good view of the front of the hotel.

If you are looking for a hotel that is halfway between Vanderbuilt and Downtown, this may work. Rooms are quiet, clean and well appointed. parking is convenient. Shuttle to downtown if you need it. This is a good option if you are in Nashville.

Visited recently with friends and family to attend a concert and check out the Nashville scene. This hotel proved to be a solid stay for our family. Notables were as follows:

The pluses:
- Typical Embassy room - well appointed, clean and comfortable.
- Breakfast included with the room rate.
- Friendly service at the front desk.
- Complementary shuttle service to take you to Music Row (or the concert in our case).
- Good value when compared with other properties nearby.
- Quiet room with comfortable bed and two flatscreen TVs.

The minuses:
- The line for "cook to order breakfast" line was the longest I've ever seen with only one cook. The poor guy was making 10-11 omelettes at a time with another 10-15 people waiting. He was doing his best and working very fast but wait times were about 20 minutes all morning.
- Too far to walk to Music Row.
- Valet service cost an extra $20 (althought I think this is standard practice for hotels in the area).
- No pool.

Overall, the good clearly outweighs the bad. I will certainly consider this hotel again when I return to Nashville and would recommend it.

This hotel seems wedged into a small spot. The circular entry drive is SMALL, and only a few cars can fit in at once. You can't access the adjacent-ish parking garage before check-in, so you have no choice but to claim a spot in the circular drive and hope for the best.

Once inside, the atrium is spacious and seems a world away from the street outside. Check-in was a little slow due to some issues with a wedding party. The front desk person couldn't have been any nicer, though, once it was our turn. Super friendly and helpful.

The parking garage ... where do I start? I chose to self-park, although valet parking was an option. Can't speak to that, but the self-park garage was a piece of work. Wonky and tight are the two words that come to mind. It's obviously a refurbished older structure, supported by all these circular columns, and it's darn near impossible not to hit them or somebody else's car when pulling in or backing out. And I have a little car! Had a couple of near misses, both with parking and with encountering oncoming traffic in the garage. It was serviceable though. It semi-connects to the hotel via covered walkways. It's odd and it didn't feel the safest to me, but again, it was serviceable.

The room was very nice in all respects. Furniture, bedding, fridge, tv, bathroom, you name it. It was a small room for an Embassy Suites, but it felt very nice. Very clean. No complaints. A suggestion would be to lose (or downsize) the glass topped coffee tables. It was in a kind of cramped spot, making it easy to bump into. We had kind of cruddy view, but that wasn't really a concern. We heard no outside noise from either the window or the rest of the hotel, so that was a plus.

People seemed to be enjoying the evening reception, but the line was too long for me to give it a try.

Breakfast was probably the weakest point at this hotel. Nothing I had was very good. The person cooking the omelets was super nice, but the thing just had no flavor, no seasoning. I don't think this was his fault, as all the food was uniformly UNseasoned. Even after salting and peppering, and adding some salsa, it was pretty flavorless. The potatoes were dry, mushy, unappetizing. The toast I had was pretty good, but I toasted it myself! Pastries were ok. Scrambled eggs in the chafing dish were watery and yukky looking. Sausage was ok. My daughter did enjoy the french toast. You just can't think of the free breakfast as a major selling point. It's breakfast and it's free, but I can't think of anything else to say in its favor.

We walked to Pie in the Sky Pizza for dinner. Very short walk that seemed kind of dicey in places, but it worked out. We enjoyed our dinner very much.

Beware that the only room service option is from Omaha Steakhouse, the restaurant on property. The cheapest steak was $19.95.

We went to a concert at Bridgestone Arena. The hotel provides shuttles TO the arena, but they stop providing return service at 10:00, which is later than most shows would let out. Didn't use the service for that reason.

The best thing about this hotel were the employees. Everyone was helpful, smiling and accomodating. The second best thing were the rooms. Except for being on the small side, they were pretty flawless.

Overall, I would stay here again, but maybe not if I were driving an SUV! I would also skip the free breakfast.

I picked this hotel from reviews on trip advisor. we were in nashville visiting my son. the location was good, I could walk to the vanderbilt/hillsboro area though some of the sections were a bit dicey but short lived. the breakfast with fresh omelets was a real treat. the evening reception was ok, nothing wonderful but great to take a glass of wine back to the room. my husband liked the workout room. I would definitely stay there again.
