When we looked at this restaurant online the menu looked very promising and it looked like a place where my husband and I could have an interesting and fun time. Since it is owned by Gaylord Opryland we also thought that everything would be quality, etc. - - we could not have been more wrong!!! When we walked in on a Thursday evening around 5:00 pm - the place was absolutely dead and only had about 4 to 6 other people dining. This should have been something for us to pay attention to! We were seated and it took awhile for our server to come to our table. We ordered the Tennessee wet ribs and beef brisket. The food arrived less than 5 minutes after we placed our order (if we had wanted a fast-food meal - we would have gone to McDonald's that was nearby!). The brisket was unedible - way more fat than meat! The ribs were dry, black and crunchy and had a terrible taste!!! For sides we had the BBQ baked beans, house made succotash, and mac & cheese. The beans were runny - but tasted okay, the house made succotash tasted strange and was inedible, and the mac and cheese tasted like it was from the Golden Corral! My husband and I barely touched anything on our plates and were starving! We had to go to a show and had to eat something because we were so hungry! We took a chance and ordered the Dolly Parton's Southern Banana Pudding to share. We were surprised to find that the banana pudding was WONDERFUL! Our server took our plates never inquiring why we did not eat our meals, etc. There are so many WONDERFUL restaurants in Nashville - - do not waste your hard-earned money or precious time eating here! Go somewhere else!!! We left the Opry Backstage Grill still extremely hungry and we will NEVER return!!!
