I stayed at the Inn at Opryland for 3 nights in August 2014, while attending a conference held across the street at the Opryland convention center. This facility was 82.00 dollars less per night after factoring in the room and resort fee that would be charged if staying at the main Opryland Hotel.
Check-in was smooth and the front desk staff was friendly. I was booked into a 2 double bed outside room. This was almost on the other side of the facility. Once you get your directions straight you pass the indoor pool and then either up the stairs or elevator and enter the upper level outside walkway from inside the hotel. The outside room stretch of room doors will remind you of a Motel. My room was average and pretty clean. Two double beds featuring sleep number systems, (not a fan) an AC unit with controls on the wall, a flat screen TV with a dead remote control and a very small bathroom with a straight shower curtain rod.
The noise level was very tolerable each night. The morning shower ritual would be easier if you had more room from a curved shower rod. I do not enjoy brushing up against the shower wall or the inside of the shower curtain...kind of defeats the purpose of why you are in there.
Next to the pool is a caribou coffee type of breakfast area, with breakfast sandwiches etc.
The shuttle to and from the main Opryland facility ran every 1/2 hour but ended at 7:00 PM
So you either walked back or took a cab..
There is a modern work out facility indoors and also a restaurant open for lunch and dinner with live music at night. During the lunch hour the staff was attentive, the food was OK and if you are a fan of retro country western stars on the video screens you would be right at home.
Overall a very average experience. The bottom line is if you wish to save some money you can justify the difference in cost. However it is not a 4 star property if you are staying in one of the motel/like outside rooms. Airport cab was 25.00 one way plus tip
