Here for a medical conference and very disappointed in this hotel. At check-in clerk claimed hotel completely booked, but that they had lalready "upgraded" us to a twin bed "suite" to make up for not having the king-bed we had already booked, confirmed and paid for. This "suite" was nothing but an ajoining room with a sofa & small dining table we neither wanted or needed. It reeked of that horribly scented spray used to mask the smell of years worth of stale cigarette smoke. The room faced the atrium where an awards dinner was taking place and the noise was deafening. My husband called the front desk and told them we would not accept the room as it would be impossible to sleep under such circumstances. The manager apologized and said she'd move us to a "better" room with a "King" size bed (having no available King beds was obviously a lie). The only positive things I can say about the next room is that it was clean and didn't stink as bad as the first one, but the noise level was still outrageous. The walls are paper-thin and the gap at the bottom of the door lets in both light and the sound booming from the activity in the atrium. We discovered that ALL the rooms face this atrium except for those you must go outside to access. I'm sure those are no less noisy since they face the back of the hotel and are subject to all the road noise plus are subjected to the weather. We traveled a great distance to attend an expensive, prepaid, non-refundable medical conference, therefore leaving wasn't an acceptable option to us. Communicating our vehement dislike for these accommodations will be shared with those responsible for the conference. It is difficult to imagine why anyone would book a conference of any type in a hotel that cannot provide an environment for attendees to get a descent night sleep. In summary, this is an old, poorly constructed, outdated hotel/motel that is on the "seedy" side. However, it's the noise factor that we find truly the most egregious.
