This is a "don't miss" stop. I thought it was a little pricy to see a house, but after the tour was very pleased. From grinandbrakeit.com

Learned a lot about the Mandrel family and the Nashville music community. Beautiful home, HUGE. Tour nicely done and you get a song from the tour guide. They also have zip lining and other activities including what looks like a nice restaurant. Check it out if you have the time and want to get away from the crowds.

Fontanel is far away from the 'hustle and bustle' but only 10 minutes away from downtown. Thanks for giving us a great review and come back out and enjoy the café and zip lines.

I always enjoy touring homes that celebrities have lived in and the Fontanel is no exception. It was great to see this beautiful log cabin way up on the hill and enjoy the grounds there. The walking trails are awesome and if you are an avid Frisbee golf player this is the place for you. They also have events there in the barn and the grounds and they are GREAT to work with. I also enjoyed lunch in the restaurant on site as well.
I recommend a visit here if you are in Nashville!

You seem to have gotten the whole Fontanel experience. The Trails are beautiful. If you have time, please give Café Fontanella a great review on Tripadvisor. Because of wonderful reviews like yours, others can know about all that Fontanel has to offer.

Steven was a very enthusiastic guide around this mansion which was quite impressively huge. The only hassles we experienced were hotel staff and taxi companies not having any knowledge of its whereabouts!!!! We had a 1 1/2 hour wait for an ordered cab to find us after the tour! I would recommend some PR work to be done by the Fontanel administration to make locals aware of its location!! Cab fare approx $30 including tip each way.

Thank you for the suggestions. Since your review, we have partnered with Citi Valet. They offer trips to Fontanel for $15. You can find their link on our website. You are absolutely right about the cabs and hotels needing to know about Fontanel. The Cab Mag is running a special for buy one, get one free for mansion tours. The word is getting out and we thank you for your business. Take advantage of Citi Valet next time you are in Nashville.

You purchase tickets at the gift shop, they were ridiculously disorganized. After that you board a shuttle to the home. Our guides were two women, one was being trained, and they were just okay. Fortunately the daughter of Barbara Mandrell joined the tour at the soda fountain and went through most of the house with us. She added a personal touch that made all the difference. She provided the little details that made the tour interesting. I do feel the cost of the tour was pricey for what you got, however we were glad we took the tour.

Thank you for your review. We love any suggestions and critiques. Also, thank you for your patience with the new guide. It is so great that Jaime, Barbara's daughter, gave you all the tour. She loves being in her childhood home. I will forward this review on to our gift shop manager and let her know that you had a less than perfect experience. We will always strive to do better.
