My wife and I visited Fontanel Mansion the third week in March. We were in Nashville for a conference and heard that Barbara Mandrell had lived there. The weather was a bit nippy but that led to the quaint and coziness of the tour. We were fortunate to have Steve Whitson as our tour guide who entertained and shared many fond moments with our group. The MAN knew everything. Kept us on the tips of our toes with a story or fact about the mansion. He was fantastic!!! He even sang us a song while we roamed the Great Room. It was a great voice in a Great Room!!!! The tour made us feel like we had lived in this mansion for many years. He narrated the tour like it was our home. To touch, feel and admire the surroundings made us feel like kin folk to Mrs. Mandrell. The outdoor deck looking out into the woods was so serene and peaceful. Of course, my wife loved the bathroom and closet space. If you are in the neighborhood, don't miss the chance to visit the Fontanel Mansion. Remember to ask for Steve and I know he will take good care of you.

Fontanel is so blessed to have Steven Whitson working at the Mansion. He has been here since we opened in June '10. Every guest feels like family when they leave. I am so glad your wife enjoyed the closet and the bathroom!!!

The log mansion is incredible and Amy (our tour guide) was both knowledgable and personable. Admission is a bit pricey but worth it if you use the AAA discount available.

Fontanel is amazingly beautiful, set on acres of wooded land, close to Nashville, but far enough away to feel removed from the city. The gift shop and restaurant are well worth visiting on their own. We had an amazing tour and will return seasonally just to see the home in different weather and decorations.

I'm so glad you mentioned how close Fontanel is to downtown Nashville. (12 minutes away). I really encourage you to come back and see our beautiful Christmas decorations. We have about 17 trees in the Mansion and it certainly is a sight to see! Thank you for appreciating the beauty that Fontanel has to offer.

Amy McMurty and Jeff (I don't know his last name) are amazing!! Jeff was so nice to us on the rides! He was always making us laugh! Amy was a great tour guide!! She made us feel right at home! She told us everything she knew! She sung to us and I wasn't scared to ask a question. When we were waiting the ladies in the box office talked to us and were really nice! We will be coming back when the new home is finished.
