We enjoyed our dinner at the Pelican & Pig. Had a 5:30 reservation, because that was all that was available. Service was great and I enjoyed the red fish & broccolini. Unfortunately, the main dish we went for... the short rib was not at the correct temperature & wasn’t ready for service until 7 pm. Ugh! So just take note.

We loved all the flavors (everything smoked on the wood fire), but were really taken aback by the prices ($14 - 15 for vegetable sides??). The mains were huge and delicious. We went here, wanting to try the "best" new restaurant in town, but as another reviewer said, it's most likely one and done. Service was excellent - helpful and observant but not hovering. Totally delicious food (we cleaned all our plates) - we had carrots, broccolini, short rib and pork chop - but the limited menu and prices will prevent us from coming back. Sorry.

This is an excellent restaurant. We heard about Pelican and Pig on a restaurant site and decided to go during our visit to Nashville. We were thrilled we did. The menu is very simple, all wood fire cooked, sourced as locally as possible with the exception of the seafood; and a wonderful cocktail menu to match the skills in the kitchen. We had an excellent waiter who was very personable and shared details of the restaurant and concepts with us. As for the food, delicious. We shared a few 1st courses and each had entrees which were all wonderful. This is a really solid restaurant and should be in the top choices when in the area.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! My first time here & could not be more pleased. Looking at the menu it seemed similar to so many other local places....but no! Upon arrival was greeted Immediately. Didn’t have a reservation so I went to the bar for a drink first. Bartender was amazingly lovely & extremely accommodating. She even took care of me when I moved to a table. That’s great service!

Large portions of tasty happiness. Not sure I have ever seen a larger portion of short ribs in a restaurant. Broccolini was also wonderful, as were the scallops. Tried the “hot” fried cheese as an appetizer since it was interesting sounding. Definitely interesting & quite good. Amazing value for your money which is hard to come by in Nashville. It’s not something I look for or really too concerned about, but refreshing to see.

In a city with a dynamically changing food scene I think this restaurant has some serious long term staying power. At least I hope so. Will definitely be going back soon.

Get out of downtown & experience something local. It didn’t disappoint.

Hands down our best meal in Nashville! Short rib was spot on and something special. Also had the shisito peppers, bread, and carrots. All was delicious! Wine menu decent but could use little more by the glass variety. Loved that we could get a small desert of cookies without it being too much or too heavy. Definitely a must!
