Description: 417 Union is a place where great food drives an ongoing celebration of vibrant community and rich history. We serve classic American fare with an emphasis on Southern traditions. Like many of our favorite Southern cooks who came before us, we are inspired to build on this culinary foundation with new innovations every season. We are proud to bring a variety of fresh, high-quality food to the Nashville community, as we have for over ten years. We love to draw on the bounty of ingredients produced in Middle Tennessee, and we buy local whenever possible. Nashville bakery Provence provides all our sandwich breads, and our famous house blend coffee is fair trade and organic.

Recently we spent 5 nights in Nashville. Great city with a wide array of activities and sites.
In the morning, we like a casual breakfast when we travel. 417 Union was perfect for our needs.
Good American breakfast food with reasonable prices and very nice service. The location is near the State capitol and our hotel, The Hermitage. We did not eat at 417 Union for other meals. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and the eggs and bacon were exactly what we needed.
The decor is nothing special and kind of rustic. Try this place on your next visit to Nashville!

Great food (Baked Salmon & Hunters Chicken). My wife & I have never been disappointed in the food here. Service was not as good this visit but that is not the norm. Owners are very nice & personable. Will always recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to eat in downtown Nashville. Prices are very reasonable.

Went to diner before the Nashville Marathon. They have a number of pasta dishes especially to cater for the runners. We sat upstairs in a a newly renovated area. Nice feel to the restaurant, cheap dishes but very tasty and the service very good. Well done

My partner and I stopped here before going to the Tennessee State Museum for lunch on a Sunday. The building is older but the retro look makes the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming.

The food is typical American with a Southern touch. For downtown Nashville, the prices are very reasonable but still slightly high for diner food. I had the Burger 417---It was topped with sauteed mushrooms, bacon and melted swiss cheese, served with lettuce, tomato and herbed mayo. It was not greasy and it was very tasty. The fries were crunchy and not too greasy either.

My partner had the Great American Cheeseburger. It is a full half pound of ground sirloin, served on a bakery roll with American cheese, lettuce and tomato. I didn't taste it, but I'm sure it was good as well.

Overall, a nice place to have a quick lunch while visiting downtown Nashville, but there are other places nearby that are a bit less pricey.

The service is what helps make this restaurant, the staff is happy to see you. We had breakfast, nice spicy sausage, eggs cooked as requested, plenty of coffee and a good value. You are surrounded by military antiques and pictures, which is their theme as the play music from the 40s. but if you are staying in one of the many nearby hotels, I would recommend it for breakfast.
