“The Cruise that Goes No Where!”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

Where do you start?

The tickets, nothing on the website indicates certain tickets didn't include food, upon arrival we were ushered to the upper deck where we could watch others eat for over an hour whilst waiting for the show, this wasn't appealing so we purchased an upgraded ticket at around $20 per person to allow us to the main area where we could partake in the "exquisite dining experience"

The Food, "Your taste buds will flourish with the flavors of the South", cheese sandwiches would have excited my taste buds more than the dried, reheated excuse of a meal. Buffet style, warmed under heat lamps, minimal choice but you can go back for more if you can stomach it! Water or unsweetened tea, anything else paid for at the bar area.

The Cruise, after upgrading our tickets and taking our seats to enjoy the feast that lay before us we were promptly told the boat was having some technical malfunctions and the boat would remain docked, perfect timing from them, waiting until everyone had boarded and eating before telling everyone this was no longer a cruise. Not to worry, on exiting they would be giving vouchers with no expiration so we could come back and enjoy this unforgettable experience at a later date. We didn't partake in the vouchers, three of our party came in from another country and two others certainly wouldn't be going back, especially before the end of the year when the vouchers expired!

The Service, appalling unfriendly service, after waiting in line for bar service a friendly waiter barged to the front and listed his order, to which he was promptly served at the expense of us continuing to wait in the rain and cold where the bar is situated. While eating, dirty food carts piled high from clearing tables left sitting by tables next to people still eating.

The Show, not much more than extremely average, 20 second skits from songs you’ll mostly recognize, lasted an hour before we promptly departed.
5 people, around $400 on tickets, upgrades and 4 single drinks from the bar.

“once-in-a-lifetime event” nothing truer could be said as we won’t be returning.

“Gospel Music Jubilee Brunch”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

Very talented quartet singing a cross section of Gospel music. Floyd Cramer's grandson was awesome on the piano. The young ladies were energetic and were excellent vocalists. The two young men were very engaging with the crowd. I would buy a C/D from the group if it were available. This performance was probably the highlight of my trip to Nashville, Tenn. The food was above average but not spectacular.

“Average attraction”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

Lunch was okay. Show was very good but some of the guests at our table were unable to see the stage because a wall blocked their view. They should provide some information to the customers as you go down the river. It could be done by loud speaker or done in 2 sessions on the bottom deck if interested. Information about the stadium, the log structures, the architectural design front of the stadium and some history of Nashville It is an expensive tour and no information about the city was given. We were disappointed.

The General Jackson lived up to our expectations. We took a lunch cruise and enjoyed ourselves. The entertainment was good - food ok. I would recommend for the experience.

“Which Direction Is It Going?”
Reviewed March 22, 2014

Please ask this before you pay for your ticket. We asked and were told that it depends on the captain. Which is a lie. An employee, once we were on the boat, told us they only go towards town at night. This was a disappointment as its not cheap too ride.

Good things were the meal and the "top deck entertainment" Show downstairs was okay not great.
The people who live on the river obviously love their General Jackson and come outside to wave at the boat. That was nice.
Overall all the advertising is misleading you to believe that you get to see the downtown. There is not one picture anywhere showing you the north route.
