Loved this place! The atmosphere here was wonderfully bizarre, as the place is a boot shop with a stage, bar, and kitchen with lots of neon lights. The band we saw on Saturday night played lots of great classics. The burgers were delicious. A must see honky tonk when visiting Nashville

we went to Roberts to have a couple of drinks and then walk around downtown. Ended up staying most of the evening. Placed was packed even on a tuesday night. Music was second to none. waitress was on the spot and very friendly. Band was excellent, with a couple of girls singers that just happened by-not members of the band but knew them. I was amazed at the talent. No cover that night at least, and the band played for tips, so tip well!!!!!!!! This place is becoming evidently the place to go.

Robert's is a Nashville icon in a city rich with history such as the Grand Ole Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and the Mother Church of Country Music, The Ryman. Robert's is an active honky tonk wear the locals go and the tourists who are lucky enough to wander in get to really feel unbridled, whiskey fueled country music. The band is up front in the store front window on a small stage. Boots on the left and the bar on the right. This ain't no songwriter's night at the Bluebird (they will shush you just like in church). This a boot stompin' PBR hootenanny through the rowdy country songbook. Bring singles for the tip jar and they will play your requests. Your friends back home will not know about Robert's, but you can always tell them, "You really have to see it to believe it."

My group of guys hit this place at about 4pm to hear some music and have a few beers before heading to dinner. This place is exactly where you want to be in Nashville to hear REAL country (Merle Haggard, George Jones, etc.) played by outstanding musicians. The beer was cheap ($2.50 PBR, Miller High Life, $4-$4.75 really good beers and microbrews). Table service was fast and frequent. Pub grub available (Fried Balogna sandwich and a PBR for $5! totally appropriate).

But most of all, the music was great, the atmosphere perfect, locals and visitors filled the place. If you go to one country joint in Nashville, go to Roberts'.

If you are partial to newer "rock" country then hang out at all the other music venues & leave Roberts to those of us who love old country. Enjoy a late night burger & $2.50 PBRs while listening to amazingly talented musicians....TIP these guys as they're paid maybe $25, pathetic for the quality of music!
