As the other reviewers have described, the Hermitage is a grand lady. This was Nashville's first million dollar hotel and back in that day it must have been quite a treat to stay here. Service was excellent, the large room was beautiful and the lobby was a work of art. There was even a Nespresso machine in the room with your choice of espresso, regular and decaf coffee.
The only thing keeping this from perfect was the availability of hot water in the shower. It was cold and rainy during our 3 night stay and a hot shower would have been a treat. Plumbing in old properties is always a challenge but when you are staying in a 5 star hotel, you expect everything to be 'just right". We were only on the 4th floor so it was disappointing to take a warm/cool/then warm then cool shower. Also, even though the Capital Grille serves breakfast, there is nothing special on the menu. Walk two blocks to Pucketts and try the Southern Stack. It is a great hangover cure.More
