“Loved it!”

We love to visit plantations and hear the history. Belle Meade did not disappoint! Beautiful grounds, beautiful house, and a free wine tasting at the end! We had an excellent guide named Cliff who brought the history to life for us. We feel we definitely got our $16 per person's worth!

“Belle Meade Plantation”

Another small tour group and lucked out and the tour guides were in period dress. Not too much information, just right. The day was beautiful, a little rain but cooled everything down. Enjoyed the wine tasting!

“Nice house, large park around”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2012

The tour was nice and gave us a lot of information. The tour lady wore a 19th century dress, which was nice to picture the dressing style of that time.

At the end was a free wine tasting (price was included in the ticket to the house). The wine was not very good, too sweet for me, and for $20 a bottle, we bought just one to support the organization running the house, since they have to make all the money from tickets and selling product made on the plantation.

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2012

Maybe we're just spoiled from seeing other mansions, but this was a letdown. It was interesting to hear the history of Belle Meade and the families, and the guides do a great job, but overall it was a disappointment. I guess we expected something grander, or to see some horses, or to be able to walk out on the property more. It was just ok.

“Excellent Tour & Winery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2012

Plantation was a short drive from the downtown area and easily located by GPS.

Belle Meade's main mansion was exquisite and the costumed guide provided a tremenous amount of information in an entertaining fashion. The tour was conducted at an excellent pace and he was more then willing to address any questions posed. Carriage House was hugh and filled with multiple carriage and the overall grounds were will maintained.

The winery was on site and the wine tasting fun and very tasty! The Wine attendants were informative and the wines were better then many we have tased elsewhere.

We had lunch in the plantation restaurant and the food was excellent using loacl ingrediants
