We attended a recent 2 1/2 hour show at the Opry with tickets costing only $35 for balcony seats with clear views - there are also large HD video screens as the balcony is quite high above the stage.
We decided not to do the backstage tour as we were visiting other music sights in Nashville.
However booking was easy at the box office, there is a superb gift shop and the Opry is adjacent to a large and pleasant shopping mall.
As regards the show itself - it was a magical evening, presented in its traditional radio show format and with a large lineup of old, new, traditional and contemporary artists. Sound and acoustics were excellent and there was a terrific atmosphere.
There are signs saying no photography allowed - but this didn't seem to be a problem and many of the audience from downstairs were walking to the stage to take photos. Many of the artists were also happy to pose for photos while on stage.
There is ample free parking and the traffic flow after the show was surprisingly quick.
Any visit to Nashville must include an Opry show - whatever the lineup as it's so varied there will be something to please everyone.
