Owner description: The Grand Ole Opry, an American Icon and Nashville's number one attraction, is known for creating one-of-a-kind entertainment experiences for audiences of all ages. It's where unforgettable moments happen every week...moments like the night Trace Adkins revealed a tweet inviting his pal Blake Shelton to become a member of the Opry. With country music's new stars, superstars, and legends live on stage, you never know what'll happen next. See the show that made country music famous.

I always enjoy a trip to the Opry. The tradition, the music. If you don't know already, they still broadcast the Opry as a radio show, so the commercials get a bit tiresome. Also, be prepared that generally, each act only performs two or three acts. And usually, there are a couple acts you won't enjoy and if you are going to see a favorite well-known singer/group, you may be disappointed that you are only seeing a couple of songs.

Thank meklein

Was not to sure about this one. Honestly we had the best time. I found this so entertaining, upcoming music, great fiddlers, singers etc. I also found the commercials very funny, at first you don't realize the announcer was saying adds for Dollar General and Cracker Barrel but what a hoot. So glad we took the chance and went. Thank you for such a fun evening.

Yes, it's touristy, yes the crowds are big and it's a bit of a drive from your downtown hotel, but it's the one thing that everyone associates with the city. The show had a couple headliners but the show is really a variety show with an announcer, commercials for the sponsor (it's on the radio)and several regulars and acts leading up to the final few songs where the headliners sing (about two songs each). We left before the final song to miss the traffic because its a big crowd in a big parking lot. So go for the show and then visit the Ryman Auditorium downtown to get a feel for the original theater.

What luck. When you book your tickets you don't know who is going to perform but we hit the jackpot.
Martina McBride (awesome!)Clint Black, Vince Gill and guest appearances from Keith Urban and Dan Marino from the Dolphins.
Some guy named Bill Anderson was really really good. Since I don't know much about country music I didn't know him but he has a very good voice.
In addition, Darius Drucker was inducted into the Opry. I don't understand how that works because he was formerly a rock singer (Hootie and the Blowfish) and he only has 3 country songs. I thought you had to have a substantial body of work in country to be inducted ??
