My family and I had a wonderful time touring The Hermitage. Take the horse carriage tour! It is well worth the extra fees.

And you should. Around every corner there's something, interesting, exciting, or informative. When was the last time you visited beautiful gardens and were told to touch, taste, smell? Wonderful for ages.

Enjoyed spending several hours on a Sunday afternoon taking a tour of the mansion and the gardens. Free audio tour available with paid admission. Many of the mansion's furnishings are original from the time that Jackson and his family lived there. On Sunday afternoons they offer a live presentation by a person dressed in costume. When I was there we learned about Jackson's background as General of the U.S. Army and his Texas relations with men like Davy Crockett and Sam Houston.
