We visited as part of our road trip and were blown away by the sheer size of the place, it was very impressive, set in a lovely park with lots going on around it, there was even a wedding photo shoot going on when we were there.
Well worth the 6 dollars entrance fee, nice and cool inside, lots of groups of kids being shown around and educated, they seemed really interested, made a nice change to see kids responding to being educated, unlike at home!

If you love Greek architecture, going to the Parthenon is must on your trip. The paintings and sculptures depict what the fine buildings may have looked in Ancient Greece. Once a year, the Parthenon is open to the public free. The price of admission at other times is reasonable. Their gift shop has much to offer.

We stopped here because my kids both study ancient Greece at school and one of them is on the last book of the Percy Jackson series (the first book has a scene at the Nashville Parthenon), so I thought they'd be interested. They were less interested than I expected. They liked looking up at it and beholding Athena, and they guessed at a few god in the statues, but all and all, it was an under 40 minute visit. They had some lovely artwork in the lower gallery, but with a lot of nonsense verbiage in the explanatory plaques about the evils of Christianity compared to the great liberation of paganism and the joys of temple prostitution (I exaggerate, of course, but that was the gist). The price was a bit high for the amount of time we actually spent in there. I'm not sure I'd have done it again in retrospect, but it is a novelty.

I have always heard of the Parthenon, but never expected it to be as large as it was. It was a grand site to behold. My son loved it. He enjoyed comparing the inside to the movie Percy Jackson. Only thing that needs to change is the closing time. It closes way too early!
