“Not Worth the Free Ticket and Cost of Gas”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2011

Went to the Parthenon because I received a free ticket when I purchased a sightseeing package from the Nashville Visitors Bureau. I'm glad I didn't purchase a ticket.

“This really exists!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2011

My son is addicted to Greek/Roman mythology. My son loved the Percy Jackson books. In the movie Percy & his pals visit the Parthenon in Nashville. We just happened to be going through Nashville on our Christmas, family vacation...coincidence? I think it was a dang good idea! It's amazing! Right in the middle of downtown Nashville, in the middle of an average looking park is THE PARTHENON! (Ok, maybe just a replica, but it's still remarkable!). Inside my son loved learning & seeing actual Greek history. A fun time for our entire family.

“Great short stop!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2011

If you're driving by, I would recommend you stop and walk around the outside of the Parthenon. We didn't go inside, but it was great to take pictures outside on the lawn. The building is quite large and beautiful to see.

“Worth a stop for the architecture & nice park area.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2011

The Parthenon is great for pictures and to view the incredible architecture. We were there around 11am and the light streaming through the columns on one side at that time of day made for some beautiful photos.

You can pay to go inside. It's $6 for adults. The interior bottom level houses a small museum type area with the history of how the Parthenon came to be which was interesting to read about and see the old photos. There is also an art gallery which was ok, but nothing spectacular. You can then go to the upper level which is where the statue of Athena is. There are also molds of the pieces that have been used for the structure and its statues. The statue of Athena is impressive in size but was a little disappointing because it is gold gilded with a painted face which makes it look more like something from India than from Greek mythology. The top floor is not air-conditioned, just the bottom level.

If you want to save the money and not see the interior, at least make the journey to go and see the outside of the Parthenon and walk around the lake area. There are some pretty flower gardens and usually home to lots of Canadian geese.

A very unique piece of architecture in the home of country music!

“Surreal location and stunning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2011

You just don't expect to find something like this in Tennessee! The huge, gold-leafed statue of Athena is awesome and even more so when you realise the little guy stood on her hand (Nike) is over 6' tall! Once you enter the main hall you completely forget that you are in modern America rather than ancient Greece. This is a must-see.
