“A wonderful old auditorium in downtown Nashville”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2014

The Ryman has been thoroughly renovated, but the improvements and the more comfortable surroundings haven't diminished the historic character of the building. It would have been neat to see a performance of the Grand Ole Opry when it played at the Ryman on a year-round basis, but one can understand why the Opry moved out to the newer and larger Opryhouse near Opryland Hotel since it can better accommodate the peak-season crowds. The Grand Ole Opry still comes back to the Ryman in the winter when crowds are smaller, however, and my wife and I got to see one of the Patsy Cline plays at the Ryman during a summer evening. During the intermission, we noted a lot of activity just two rows from where we were sitting, and we discovered that Trisha Yearwood graciously was signing autographs for everyone who requested them! We have taken the self-guided tour, but after reading the other reviews, I want to go back to the Ryman sometime and pay the extra $5.00 for the backstage tour.

“Loved the self guided tour~”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2014

Loved to see the original "Grand Ole Opry Home!" $15 for a self tour, $20 for the "back stage pass" that wasn't available the day we went. Worth seeing? I say Yes!

“Don't miss it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2014

This is Nashville history, not be me missed. The facility is beautiful, and every nook and cranny oozes history. The backstage tour is well worth the extra $5 - the guides provide great insight into the building history, and have many stories about all the country music greats that have played at the Ryman.

“Historical venue”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2014

Most people think the Ryman is only for country music fans, and to a large degree it is. But the excellent tour goes into the history of the building and all the different performers that have played there over the years. All in all, the building and tour were well worth the time.
