The Ryman is steeped in history and you really get to understand its importance to country music. Very informative films and information available which keep you interested and explain the significance of the Ryman. Well worth a visit.

The Ryman is easily missed if you're not looking for it but I suggest you make it a priority stop. The venue itself is a work of art. The history, stories and legends who performed there are awesome. A place not to be missed - and, take the backstage tour for the extra few dollars, it's so worth it. My bucket list just got longer as I must go back to see a show.

It was interesting to hear the history of the Ryman and sit in the pews....wish we could have gone onto the stage. The tour is self-guided so you can spend as much or as little time as you wish. A video featuring Trisha Yearwood at the beginning of the tour route gives a good overview of the auditorium's history. The sound booth is set up so that visitors can make their own recording which is fun. Would have been nice to have guided tours available.

We had tried for months to get tickets to a Ryman performance during our weekend stay in Nashville, with no luck as The Lumineers concerts were totally sold out. So, imagine our joy when we turned up to do the Ryman tour and managed to get 2 tickets for Saturday night! The Ryman is a joy - the one time church/meeting house has a great atmosphere and is full of evocative memorabilia from its peerless list of past performers - anyone you can think of, they will have played the Ryman. There is a fabulous display of signed posters, all in the beautiful letterpress designs still used today - from Hank Williams to Mumford & Sons, by way of Tom Jones, Emmylou Harris and Bruce Springsteen. The Lumineers performance perfectly showcased the Ryman's special qualities, they even did an entirely 'unplugged' set to honour its fabulous acoustics.

The Ryman is an absolute 'must' if you are visiting Nashville for even a very short stay.

Not a country music fan but this is a must-see! Learning the history of the Grand Old Opry and the back stage tour was great. And they still have performances there.
