We took the backstage tour before atttending a Bluegrass Night show. The tour gives you not only a glimpse at the auditorium's rich history, but also a real sense of the music greats who've played there, including the Grand Ole Opry stars who called the Ryman home for so many years. Display cases at the back of the auditorium contain some interesting artifacts. There's a large gift store that has high quality merchandise as well. We enjoyed Bluegrass Night and found that it's true -- listening to music at the Ryman is an intimate experience that bonds performers and audience into one cohesive artistic whole.

Loved the video by Trisha Yearwood to start, all the history of this building, the Minnie Pearl tribute, the list of the people who have performed here. Do not miss.

My husband and I toured the Ryman and enjoyed learning about one of country music's gems! We learned about its rich history, including hosting the Grand Ole Opry, and it was very special to stand on the stage that Johnny and June, and so many others performed on! It is a beautiful building and a fun visit.

A very old building which is what made it neat. Big, with an intimate atmosphere. Took the tour, which was great. Tour guide knew everything about history you could possibly want to know. Came back two night's later to see Kris Kristofferson. What a thrill. Kris performed for over 2 hours. Even thought the auditorium was packed, his performance felt like it was a small venue. He was GREAT.
