My family made a trip to see the Parthenon but thoroughly enjoyed the Park. The train was impressive even though you cannot go inside. The garden was beautiful even in early October. My children really liked the pond with its geese and ducks. Don't forget to bring bread to feed them.

I really like spending time outdoors and spending time at Centennial Park is a very nice way to relax and spend time out doors. The Parthenon is beautiful and every time I visit the park I always take a new photo of The Parthenon. The small lake with the ducks is peaceful and at the same time fun. Also, so Centennial Park is very large so if you enjoy walking then this is the place. Also, there are many fun and unique festivals that are held at Centennial Park and most of them are free! So, let's take a walk at Centennial Park!

I work across the street from Centennial Park. Most everyday I take a stroll thru the park at lunch to regroup and refresh the batteries in my brain. Even when lots of people are in the park, it never feels crowded - there is a lot of landscaping that buffers you from others and offers small areas with a feeling of seclusion. There is a one mile loop walking/running paved path which is plenty wide for several walkers to walk together. Several play areas specifically for smaller children - the playground equipment is very new. The park is kept very litter free by a great staff who blends in well - you hardly ever even notice them, although they are almost always weeding, cleaning up leaves, or litter, etc... Several outstanding flower gardens exist which can take your breath away with the color in them! Many benches to sit on and enjoy the view - lots of picnic tables scattered throughout with millions of magnificent old trees for a lot of shade! The lake has lots of geese and ducks - bring some bread to feed them - and the squirrels. This webpage mentions paddleboating, but I've never noticed anyone on the lake doing this. Come and enjoy - always plenty of grass/shade to stake out a spot on and feel almost alone in the outdoors in the middle of a busy city!
