Loved this park, great place to run, walk, stroll, sight see and take pictures.
We found it by accident while looking for a place to walk our dog, while spending a day in Nashville. Nice paved trails that are wheelchair friendly. Large scenic pond that you can walk around, a steam train and jet plane on display and of course the life size replica of the Parthenon in Greece, built in the 1920's when someone obviously had a lot of extra money to burn. If you get a chance, go inside for $5 and see the 48' statue of Athena.
Great place for Kids.
Loved It!!!

This is a definite visit, but if time crunched, drive through. You can find swings for couples to sit and talk. There is a playground for the younger ones. The squirrels are hilarious in themselves. The pigeons are super friendly and so are the ducks.
The walking trail is full of nature and friendly faces.
This park gives plenty of opportunity for the photo guru too.

Some relatives were showing us around town when we stopped by the Centennial Park on a COLD Saturday in January.

It's a fantastically designed park commemorating Tennessee's history and accomplishments of its citizens. It's mostly outside with plenty of space for children to run around and explore. The park lies at the foot of the state capital. The highlight of the park is a huge map of Tennessee engraved in granite showing towns, watersheds and highways.

There is a Civil War display under the railroad. A farmers market and flea market operate on Th-Sat.

I don't know of any other state capital with such an informative and lavish park as this one.

I am honest with myself by saying that I will probably never be able to see the real thing.. .But this life size replica of the Parthenon was AMAZING! Totally worth the couple of bucks that it cost to enter this breathtaking structure and I will totally go back!

Beautiful park to pass an afternoon. Lovely spots for a picnic! Plenty of parking, easy access, and lovely grounds!
The area can get busy with college sporting events, so plan accordingly...but the place has plenty to offer and a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy!
