“Very nice resort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2012

This was a timeshare exchange near the Opryland Hotel. Excellent, positive experience. Staff was friendly and cooperative. Pool indoors was a little cool, but not uncomfortable, condo was well appointed, and great appliances (small and large). Very little by way of storage containers, etc. (less than other resorts). we loved the location, visited grand ol opry twice, mall, opryland hotel (beautiful gardens and great food!), and easy drive to downtown. We did not use any of the special events offered by the resort, but they looked fun. The sales folks respected our wishes after two major tries the first 2 days, and did not call us afterward. thanks. a great experience and we'll be back.

Room Tip: some rooms were redone and they are great.

We have been members of the Wyndham Resorts points system (formerly Fairfiled Resorts) since 2004. We have stayed at many of the Wyndham and affiliate 'points' resorts throughout the USA and Caribbean. We have also sent many of our friends and family to these resorts as well. So, let me say at othe onset, our overall experience has been pleasing and we have traveled to places we may not have otherwise.

BUT, one overriding caveat, that we tell everyone we send or talk to that go to a Wyndham ... "SAY NO to the sales staff!" There are many ways and methods that are used to get you to hear the 'short' presentation (that ends up lasting FOUR HOURS or more) but, all it is is a slaes pitch to buy more points or an entirely new membership. This is not a requirement! There is no obligation to attend any seminar, meeting, or presentation. Unless you want to give up half od one precious vacation day for a perk or premium discount (and often those are better than some you could get on your own), "Just Say No!" To that end, the sales staff is the rudest, most overbearing and demanding people we have come in contact with throughout the Wyndham system. The only exception was a salesman at Crystal Palace in Nassau that ruined an entire days for us!

Other than that, Wyndham Nashville is a favorite destination whether you stay a night or a week. The facility and staf (other than sales!) are very helpful , courtious, and the condos are clean and well decorated. Considering that this facility was at 'ground zero' during the disaster of May,2010, when the Cumberland River (les than 100 yards away) flooded most of Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Indeed, this Wyndham has survived and show few signs of being under 10 feet of water at the height of the flood.

Therefore, I highly recommend Wyndham Nashville as a destination for some of the best entertainment you can find in the USA

Checked in yesterday and they put us in "Building 10". The room was old, musty smelling, the couch was ripped, the wall paper was peeling. It was really a complete mess. I complained and they put me recently remodeled "Building 18". What a differerence, granite counter tops, good furniture, huge rooms. Be sure to check which unit they put you in. The location is off the beaten path, you will have a 15-20minute drive to a grocery store and to downtown.

Room Tip: Select building 18 if you want an updated room away from the noise of the pool area.

My husband and I stayed at the Wyndham Nashville the first week of September 2012. It was a wonderful place to stay. We had a one bedroom deluxe unit which has a gorgeous kitchen, dining room, living room and bedroom. There was a big jacuzzi tub, two big screen televisions - one in the living room and one in the bedroom and a washer dryer. The unit was huge and immaculately maintained. The kitchen was well stocked so cooking and dining was easy. Our bed was extremely comfortable and there was plenty of closet and bureau space. We also had a very nice balcony which we thoroughly enjoyed.

The resort had a nice fitness center and both an indoor and outdoor pool.Water aerobics classes were offered every morning.

The property is close to the Grand Ole Opry and the Opryland Hotel, which is a sight to see. Downtown is about a twenty minute drive.

Room Tip: Highly recommend the deluxe one bedroom

We had an excellent time at the Wyndham Nashville. The rooms were clean and well appointed. They provided all the starter stuff for the kitchen, laundry and coffee maker. The service was suburb and our overall stay couldn't have been better!

My wife and I used our timeshare and came here in April 2012 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The stay overall was decent. Check in was smooth. The rooms spacious as well as clean. Not a fan of the outdoor access to rooms. Location was close to a lot of attractions. As timeshare owners we really had no major problems until our last day. We kept on being called to schedule update meeting with the timeshare folks. The last day we met. Basically they ultimately were trying to upgrade our points with a special promotion. We were not interested but they kept on talking. Ultimately we missed our flight in the process. This is one place I would stay away from unless you completely avoid the the timeshare folks

Wyndham Resorts in general are a safe choice: you know you'll get high-quality accommodation and courteous staff. We stayed in Nashville in the last week in August, in a two-bedroom apartment that had plenty of space, comfortable beds, almost everything we could need in the kitchen (except no kettle. No KETTLE??) and high-quality appliances. However, the bathrooms are dated, with cheap showers - even in the master bathroom - and cheap and difficult-to-use taps in the vanity sinks. And only one sink in the master bathroom? These days I would expect two even in a four-star hotel, let alone a premium resort.

The biggest downside is the lack of proper insulation between floors. The last time we stayed at a Wyndham, we were on the top floor, and so didn't notice the problem so many people complained about. This time we did. We could hear every single movement made by the people in the apartment above, and unfortunately for us they were early risers. I was woken before seven every morning by walking, running and even occasional jumping upstairs. I believe that these buildings were refurbished a couple of years ago as a result of the floods in Nashville; why on earth did no-one bother to remedy this major issue?

Finally, I have to mention the timeshare sales people. While they're nowhere near as obnoxiously rude and pushy as those in other (non-Wyndham resorts) - in fact, the individuals we talked with were very polite and genuinely appeared helpful - we are left with a bad taste in our mouths. It all started with us being told that we missed out on lots of good stuff when Wyndham bought RCI, but that our nice host would introduce us to an RCI member services person to put it all right. "Putting it right" involved buying another timeshare. Yeah, right. Shelling out $24,000 - which then dropped to $15,000, and then $10,000 for lower-level inventory when we balked - to get additional points we can't use as we don't have that much time to take holidays, and just avoid, apparently, an annual membership fee. Yes, no exchange fee - IF we trade only within Wyndham. But another annual maintenance fee, higher than our current one. No, it would not have cut our annual costs; it would have increased them. And the "Perks" program, which we researched, would have saved us nothing; we can get better savings ourselves.

We later found out through some internet forums that the "Wyndham bought RCI" story isn't strictly true - they were always in the same parent company - and the "oh, my god, how did you not get this information?" is a standard story trotted out to many unsuspecting guests. Steer clear of the timeshare sales if you stay at this resort - you'll save yourselves hassle and time. This incident took up around three hours of our day, when we were expecting half an hour (we hadn't agreed to participate in a *sales presentation*, after all) and wrecked the plans we had made for the time.

Summary: Good accommodation, but get an apartment on the top floor and avoid the timeshare sharks.

Room Tip: Ask for a top-floor apartment - essential!
