This was the better of the two Hyatt Place hotels we stayed at during our road trip. It is very close to the Grand Ole Opry, the current home of the show. The hotel is comfortable and the staff very helpful and competent. Also, ice is available on every floor.
Our room had two full beds and a sofa bed. The refrigerator and AC unit worked much better here than at our previous Hyatt hotel in Arlington. The room is very spacious and accommodated our family of four with ease. Parking was ample and the hotel provided a shuttle service to and from the Opryland complex, a five minute trip.
Breakfast was very good the days we were there. We had french toast, scrambled eggs, sausage links and fruit. There was also oatmeal, yogurt, cereal and juices for the taking.
It is a fifteen minute drive to downtown Nashville from the hotel. Traffic wasn't much of an issue and downtown parking was fairly easy to find. We did depend heavily on our GPS to navigate the city, but never got lost. There are many attractions downtown, we used a day to see few, but easily could have stayed two days and not gotten bored. If you elect to drive to the Opryland complex, park in the mall parking lot, its free, whereas the Gaylord Hotel parking is $21.
We would stay here again if we were going to see the Grand Ole Opry, but may opt for a downtown hotel if we plan on staying for an extended length of time.
