“Almost perfect stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

Over all this is a very convenient place to stay if you are visiting the Nashville area. We had no problems navigating to all of our activities throughout the week. The drive to downtown was only about 12 minutes (not during peak rush hour) and across the street from Opryland, the Grand Ole Opry and the Opry Mills Mall. There are lots of dining options nearby as well.

First the staff, they were nothing but friendly through out our entire stay. The front desk staff was very helpful with information about the FREE shuttle to Opry Mills and Opryland. Don't pay the ridiculous $20 parking fee to just to visit Opryland. (Don't pay the ridiculous rates to stay there either) We were able to use the shuttle to visit the mall and the hotel, you could also use it if you are attending the Grand Ole Opry. What a great perk this is for guests at the Hyatt, so I recommend using it.

The housekeeping staff did a fine job and the rooms were cleaned daily, however some days they were very late in cleaning. I do understand they were fully booked, so I am sure that plays a part in the delay. We really didn't even need our room cleaned and just asked for fresh towels one day and was satisfied. The housekeeping staff was very friendly too.

The rooms themselves were very spacious and we loved the separate sitting area and desk/work area. The kitchenette was very helpful during our week long stay. We used the frig and counter area for snacks and drinks throughout the week.

The closet and dresser area was sufficient. We like the large sink and vanity area. It made it easy for more than one person to get ready in the morning. As many others have mentioned the actual bathroom (toilet and shower) area is extremely small. It did make it somewhat difficult to maneuver around at times, but it was actually funny at times. Just watch your toes when you open the door...lol. Aside from being the smallest bathroom area in the world, it was still very clean and served its purpose.

The HDTV was large and could be viewed from the bedroom area or living room area. The is FREE Wi-Fi and all the digital outlets anyone would need for their tech gadgets. There is HBO and PAY movies available too.

The bed was very comfortable as well as the pillows. We slept extremely well the entire stay :)

The pool was open from 10 to 10 daily and we used it almost daily and for a few evening swims as well. It is rather small, but clean and had a nice gated area with clean towels provided.

The FREE breakfast provided is very nice. A variety of offerings was available each morning, but the standard fare was fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, oatmeal, waffles or pancakes, pastries, cereals, juices, coffees, teas and really good breakfast sandwiches with egg, cheese, fresh bacon or ham on an English muffin. They were surprisingly tasty. This saved us a great deal of money by taking advantage of this perk for the week.

We would certainly stay at this Hyatt property again and would seek out other Hyatt Place locations during our travels in the future. The room design is very contemporary and spacious (except the bathroom...lol) and meets our travel needs. The entire hotel is very visitor friendly.

Also - This Hyatt also has FREE parking. We booked two rooms, one King and 2 doubles for our sons.

Located very close to the Oprah mall and grand ole opry. Free shuttle bus to both of these that operates like a personal taxi for you. Drivers were very helpful and friendly and came and picked us as soon as I called them. Hotel had good free breakfast that was more then enough for a hungry tourist. Rooms were well appointed with safe, fridge and area to relax and sit down in. Pool was a little small but was fine and usable. McDonald's, another resturant (can't recall the name) and a gas station with mini market all within walking distance of this hotel.

The majority of the staff was very friendly and helpful. For the price we paid, it was a very good value. Parking is free and there is a free shuttle to the Opryland resort about 1/2 mile away. Great location to the Grand Ole' Opry and the Mall. The rooms were acceptably clean for a family place where I do expect some stains in the carpet. Bed and seating areas are large. There is a nice work desk, a refrigerator and a bar sink. Vanity and Kitchen areas were clean. Important and to the point - I am perfectly average weight and height yet I had a hard time getting in the bathroom and closing the door and in all honesty, it was so tight, it was difficult to wipe yourself when seated on the toilet - no joke. The small size makes is very difficult for staff to get in the corners and behind the door. It's clean, just not immaculate - it appears the staff honestly does the best they possibly can. If you get an amazing price, and have a sense of humor (it was sort of funny after a while) it is overall a decent place. While the location to the Opry Land and Opry are great, Nashville city and The District is a 10 -15 minute car ride if there is no traffic. Traffic in the city between 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. should be avoided at all costs! However - do visit The District - it is a great city!!

Room Tip: Ask about the bathroom sizes, all are small but many rooms are nearly physically impossible, this is...

The hotel was great, service friendly, rooms nice and large!! The only complaint I have is the breakfast. I had seen where they had pancakes on the breakfast line, I went to get them and the lady behind the bar was pulling them out of a bag, that's right a bag, looks like the kind you can buy at Walmart frozen and throw in the microwave, and they tasted horrible. The selection was not all that great on what else to get! I would stay again but if i can get a free breakfast at another hotel with a competitive price, i would go to the other. The free breakfast at this hotel was a reason i chose it because we were only staying 1 night and did not have time in the morning to stop and get breakfast.

Great hotel very close to Opryland! We were able to take cab between opryland and the hotel for about $7 each way so we could enjoy the bars. We booked the Hyatt about the day before we were going and still got a good rate. The room was huge, clean, and very modern. The bed was comfortable and there was a large couch and desk area. The staff was also friendly and even tried to get us their personal driver to take us to the Opry so we didn't have to take a cab, but it was a busy night.
We got free hot breakfast in the morning. There were egg English muffin sandwiches and pancakes and oatmeal when we got down there.

We would stay here again!

Only downside are all the room taxes but that applies to any Nashville hotel.

This hotel was great! The Grand Ole Opry is closer than we expected it, which was neat! There were many restaurants and attractions close by also. You could not be bored in Nashville!

The hotel had a lot of features! They had a free breakfast in the morning, a work out center, a outdoor pool, and convenient flat screens all around. The rooms are nice with a large flat screen too. A mini-fridge, a desk, and A/C unit. On the other side, the bathroom is very small. It is a toilet and shower, with very little room to get around. As in other reviews, this has been noticed. Room service was also very nice.

This hotel was a great stay, ignoring all the negatives. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Nashville!
