Rooms were clean and the ground were impeccable. The service was slow at times but did not bother us because everyone had a smile. I liked the breakfast food and room service pancakes were yummy. The cinnamon role serves four people! The hotel takes excellent care of the gardens. the flowers are beautiful. My husband and I would definitely come back to this fabulous resort.

The Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center has a package for couples during the month of their wedding anniversary. It was a good way rekindle a little bit of the honeymoon without having to do the entire blow out. Expect to spend a lot of money. It tries to 'cast a wide net' being a public convention facility, associated with a mall, but the attention to detail from the staff makes you feel like you are at resort. Once you leave the facility, you are back in the reality of being in Nashville and not some far off place.

Dinner at Ravello is great. The service, the waitress Amber, is very attentive. The "cheese-expert" is fun. Reservations from the room was very helpful.

Try to get a snack or lite bite after 9:30 PM was impossible here. Only the expensive restaurants and bars were open. The pizza place, ice cream, coffee shops were closed. The pizza place said they normally close at 10 but were closing early. This went on all week. There are people who like food and not drinks at night. It was annoying not having a place to go at 10 at night.

We stayed at the hotel because it was mandated by a hockey tournament. We tried to eat at a hotel restaurant both nights we stayed and both nights were told it would be 45 minute waits. Both times we said we would wait and surprisingly a table became available 10 minutes later. When we entered the restaurants, the were less than half full. It appeared they were short staffed and didn't want customers. Service was slow. When the waiter brought our food one night and my son complained that we hadn't received our drinks yet, the server went and brought my son a drink. The waitress saw this and loudly berated the server for bringing the soda.

Way too expensive to have such terribly run restaurants and uncaring hostesses.

If you like a extremely large, better yet massive hotel that has a lot of places to dine, things to do on site, a gorgeous garden, and very special atrium... Then this is your place! However, if you don't like the following:
- the choice between a 10+ minute walk to your car or waiting 30 minutes for valet
- waiting in a long line of cars when pulling up to get a valet ticket
- a very long line to check in
- another long line to get a morning coffee to go
- another long line just to exit the parking lot
- an ice machine that did NOT work (at least on our D3 location)
- not being close to downtown Nashville, so you have to wait for a shuttle, or deal with the 35 min wait for slow valets
- being somewhat confused by the irregular layout of the complex, often being lost... Maybe finding out your long walk was in the wrong direction....

Then this is NOT a place for you.

some rooms, including mine were very 'average' at best but others have a nice balcony. One nice feature was the curtains were by far the best I have ever experienced at blocking out daylight.

If you had a lot of time on your hands to stroll, you want to stay on site and dine ... While a little pricey to do this, it is a nice place to go.

But for this road warrior, after a long trip and arriving to a hotel and dealing with inconveniences like several sets of long lines, long walks, a complex too huge to move around, and not so easy travel to downtown, it was too much for me to give a recommendation. I know some folks think it is great, but i won't be back.

Room Tip: Get a room with a "bump out" or balcony.

This place is huge and once you get the lay of the land it is not hard to get around. The inside Gardens and Casades area are beautiful and we were fortunate enough to have a balcony over looking the Gardens up on the 5th floor. We spent a lot of time enjoying our balcony. Was there for the Women in Aviation International conference and the hotel did a great job with all accomidations.Hotel was just recently taken over by Marriott. Enjoy your stay - we did

Room Tip: ask for a balcony

I recently stayed here with my daughter's high school dance team. Overall the stay was pleasant for what amount of time we were there. The gardens and waterfalls were beautiful and there was a calming affect as we explored the premesis. The rooms were very comfortable and included a nice sized refrigerator and second sink area.
Check in was not very organized and was quite time consuming. If you are going as a group and will be using the meal vouchers, know that your options are limited. The food options outside of the voucher option were pricey.
