Owner description: This scenic reserve provides views of the Upper King Valley and the Alpine National Park. It is believed the lookout was once a vantage point for bushranger Harry Power to view approaching troopers during his period of notoriety in the north-east. Power's Lookout Reserve has a fireplace & barbecues, picnic tables and a picnic shelter and toilets. BYO drinking water.

“Bushranger overview”

Fantastic views over the King Valley, good information board and both lookouts well worth visiting - different perspective from each.
The path to the lookout on the left hand side of the carpark has steep steps but is well worth it.

“Don't trust iphone maps”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

Found this lookout after our iphone map was sending us in the direction of the road seen at the base of this lookout. Great views of the King Valley, and Glenmore Springs Property where we stayed in a converted Tobacco Kiln. Travelled across on the C521, very windy and harpin bends - if you want a more pleasant trip go the Wangaratta and then across to Whitfield.

“great views off the beaten track”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

fantastic place to enjoy some peace & tranquility, very quiet place to look out over the valley. Easy & enjoyable drive from Mansfield up to the lookout, we then went onto the king valley to sample some wines & local produce. lovely part of Victoria

“Worth the drive over a few kilometers of dirt road.”

The view is spectacular and we were treated to a command performance by a local lyrebird with everything from car alarms, kookaburras, parrots and truck engines superbly produced.

“Worth the effort to get here.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2013

It is a bit of a trek, but the road is tarmac, with the last 3km to the viewing point being gravel. On the C521 from Mansfield to Wangaratta. Well signed. We hardly saw a car in either direction for hours. The C521 has many hairpin bends. Make sure you have sufficinet fuel and water.

Lovely views across the King Valley from the high vantage point. There is information there - the lookout is named after Harrty Power. He was a bushwacker, who teamed up with Ned Kelly. Harry was betrayed for money and captured here while he slept.

there is a picnic area and toilets.
