Description: We are situated in the township of Warburton in the Upper Yarra Valley and enjoy a unique position on the edge of the Yarra river. Our facilities include a rear balcony and deck where you will see the foothills of Mt Donna Buang and listen to the river meandering through the valley. Our menu is changed seasonally and where possible local produce is sourced to bring you the very best the Yarra Valley can provide. The food is wholesome and fresh and servings are generous

“Great views but....”
Reviewed July 12, 2014 via mobile

This cafe has the most amazing view over the river, especially of it's warm enough to sit on the rear balcony.

But... The service was particularly slow and very expensive for what was delivered

“Nice but over priced”
Reviewed July 8, 2014

This cafe is lovely. Great out door area. Great views. Good service. Friendly staff. Been here a lot of times, however only down fall is that it is over priced.... If you don't want a produce on your order but would like a replacement they charge you for it... There extras are expensive.... Also breakfast menus ,if you order mushrooms on the side it costs $3 but you only get one, maybe two small ones. I think this is wrong and have questioned it... After this being there general practice they lost us as customers and my family that live in Warburton. Plenty of other amazing competition in warburton that have great venues aswell.

“Excellent Meal and great location”

Nice warm and cozy and intimate place to have a coffee or lunch and or dinner. Very friendly staff - maybe a coat rack wouldn't go astray here

“Great views, average food.”
Reviewed May 11, 2014

It should be called a restaurant as it doesn't really cater to a cafe crowd. This restaurant has a lot going for it, namely it's proximity to the Yarra and those views. Unfortunately the breakfast menu stops at midday. I overheard the other table enquire at 2pm if breakfast was still being served. I reckon customers would be happier if breakfast was served until at least 4pm as the brekky menu looks good. If you want breakfast all day in Warburton, don't come here, go to Three Sugars. The lunch and dinner menu is one and the same and the dinner may be lovely, we didn't try it, but it's too expensive to charge that much at lunch. The best views of the river are in the smoking area where it seems the tables that are falling apart go to die. Please move the smoking area to the downstairs courtyard as those river view tables should be the very best in the restaurant, at the moment they are the worst. Our food arrived just in time after quite a long wait and was good, generous and tasty. I had the vegetarian lasagne which lacked a good tomato pasta sauce and the salad had no tomatoes, other than that it was a hearty lunch. My partner had a chicken pie with chips, both were very good. It is a lovely setting and perhaps better for dinner but needs some improvement to the smoking area, cafe menu and speed of service. It's mustn't be too time consuming to heat up some lasagne, a pie and cook a few chips, luckily we weren't in any rush. I regretted that we hadn't chosen a better Warburton cafe but enjoyed watching the river babble past.
