We visited as my husband is a train enthusiast. However, it was also the day of the Sunday market. It is held 9am - 2pm on the 4th Sunday of the month and if there are 5 Sundays, it it is held on both the 4th & 5th. There were craft, art, soap, body care products, jam, sauces, cakes, biscuits, sausage sizzle, bric-à-brac, second hand clothing, plants and woodwork. It is only a small market in the car park of the station but there is plenty of road side parking.

Trentham Railway Station shut up shop long ago but now holds a regular monthly market and the opportunity to explore the rolling stock. You can walk a track along here and enjoy the birds whistling or even eat your lunch on the platform. Such a quiet area and good for exploration.

A short walk from the main street of Trentham is the Historic Railway Station, great for train buffs and a pretty spot for sitting in the sunshine, enjoying the Sunday Market that is on there once a month and a good location for photography. You can start the Domino and Wombat Trail there also.

Every time I visit something extra is happening at the railway station. Rolling stock has increased, regular markets happen here and train carriages are a part of the market. I love to visit and you can walk the Domino Trail from here to Lyonville.

Slight off road, beautiful station, has a market , and some cafes, used to have trolley ride but not any more by the looks of it, Perhaps there are a bit too many markets around this area, (ie Daylesford market, Kyneton market, Woodend market even occasionally market display on the street of Trentham town) somewhat makes it not that special.....worth a quick drop by
