My husband and I were doing the Polperro Dolphin Swim the next morning and they recommended Carmel for accommodation. Nothing else in the area looked as nice so we booked the day that we were due to stay and didn't arrive until about 6.45pm but they were there waiting to check us in. The building is right on Sorrento main street which was great for us so we could just walk down the road for dinner. The room was a lovely size, a combination of heritage and modern. Best bed we'd had on our trip, lovely modern bathroom with a great shower. There was a little breakfast pack which was a nice surprise (we haven't stayed in a B&B before)! The room was the first off a long hallway that runs the length of the house and luckily we were the only people there for the night otherwise you would possibly hear other guests moving around, tv's etc. We left quite early for our dolphin swim so just left the key in the room, we were able to leave our car parked in their space though which was nice as parking at the peir is quite expensive. We'd caught the ferry from Queenscliffe to Sorrento and are glad we went in that direction as Queenscliffe was a little stale for our liking. Sorrento is lovely with modern shops and a selection of lovely little beaches to choose from.
