My family of 7 took 2 units as the max number per unit is 6 : so there was plenty of room for all of us ! We had a Toyota Landcruiser loaned to us by a friend in Melbourne - a car is a must if we want to venture out to nearby towns and sights.
The resort is vast. There is a pool with eels in it! The kids had activities organized for them- running around to look for clues to solve word puzzle , and rewarded with popsicle!
The front desk is helpful and professional. WiFi is available , but is rather slow-my daughter has some coursework to complete , and we had to spend quite a sum of money for her to finish her work. The WiFi is available 24 hours , but the signal can be weak at some units , so much so that at night we had to park our car near the closed office(WiFi unit) to get adequate signal!Hopefully WiFi service can be upgraded soon.
There are plenty of birdlife here to enjoy. We even saw a snake , probably a harmless python , crossing the road!Ther is a nearby horse-riding facility , accessible by a road from the resort.
We did light cooking at the fully equipped kitchen .The in-unit laundry machine and dryer enable us to travel light.
We used the resort as our base to explore Mornington Peninsula , and further afar to Phillip Island , Ballarat ,Bendigo(to visit my niece) and took the ferry from Sorrento to do the Great Ocean Drive.
Overall , this is a great resort to relax , with all the modern amenities necessary for a great stay.

spent a week here - resort offers much sport plus activities such as tai chi and water aerobics and wonderful golf course
the setting is lovely, the location brilliant set in the middle of the peninsula within easy access to all surrounding attractions - am equestrina centre next door, vineyards 5 minutues away, cheesemakers galore, world renowned glassblowers 10 minutes away, the Tyabb antiques and collectables complex 30 mintes away, beaches, nature parks etc
the whole area is well worth viisting and the Nepean a wonderful base - there was so muchs tos do and see and taste and buy that we should have stayed another week to get some relaxation

Room Tip: we had both an apartment with full kitchen as well as a motel type unit - both excellent - the motel...

Answers to the following questions exceed length limit
Room smelled very much like a toilet, with an awful stench emanating from a drain in that area. Told management who sent a maintenance man without tools who proceeded to open the drain with our cutlery. He then poured a chemical in the drain which made being in the room unbearable. We had the manager come to the unit. She came to the door an said she could not smell anything, very defensive. We had guest from another room with us who couldn't believe that she denied the smell. She proceeded to use our kettle to pour water in the drain, touching it to the floor, use our towel to clean the floor. Neither the cutlery or the kettle were cleaned by them. We were refused a change of room but were given one a night later. Our experience was so bad we left 3 days early. Staff members were friendly, but the manager could take lessons in service recovery, validation and honesty with her guests.

We stayed in a Granada unit (sleeps 6) for two weeks at the end of January/early Feb and had great weather which certainly made the holiday enjoyable! You do need a car if you want to head to one of the beautiful beaches (we love McCrae) but you could just as easily spend every day at the Resort as there is plenty to do. Sue, the Activities Coordinator, is lovely and very enthusiastic - from Tai Chi to water aerobics for the adults, to loads of kids' activities. (these may be just in school holidays though - I am not sure) The Housekeeping staff are very helpful as is the maintenance staff -nothing is too much trouble so it's worth telling reception if something is bothering you! We were even given champagne glasses as we wanted them on Australia Day! Some of the BBQs need to be replaced but the Units are lovely. So appreciative of the laundry as I could do a wash (especially the beach towels!)before we came home.

Room Tip: The units facing the golf course are lovely with beautiful views. You maybe woken by the early start...

We (3 adults) stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. We used an exchange week through our timeshare. The location of the resort suited us but you could not get around without a car.

These units have been around a long time and it shows. The facilities are very good but we were disappointed with the condition of the bbqs although there were none close enough to our unit to be useful anyway. I was shocked to see that the tariff for our unit was $290 per night - there is no way in the world I would pay this amount as a non-timeshare guest.

The unit needed an upgrade and more attention required to spring cleaning (eg build up of dust around edges of carpets and dirt in corners of windows). Having said all this, the unit was comfortable and we were pleased there was an ensuite toilet and vanity to the main bedroom. Overall, we enjoyed our holiday and the area and would probably stay here again but only if we could get a timeshare exchange.

Room Tip: Apparently some rooms have been renovated so ask for a renovated room when booking.

Upon being told you could not check in any earlier than 4pm and having read previous reviews I was a little worried about this club, keys in hand and driving to unit it look dated but updated so I was still on edge grabbed some bags and headed up old stairs unswept and cob webby....to open the door to a refreshingly modern family unit! It was so clean too, but did have a pungent curry smell which after opening all doors and windows did clear. The beds where large comfortable and fresh, 7 nights of restful sleep I have not had before on holidays so this was pleasing. Kids had to singles and lots of cupboard space. The ubits are so well equipt, everything i needed in kitchen was there even 3 glass casserole dishes! coffe perk, dishwasher the lot. bathroom had a spa did not use. toilet had its own wash room with wash machine and dryer! balcony unswept and didnt like downstairs sitting in courtyard looking up so u can shut curtains. Giant soccor field, volleyball mini golf, indoor tennis oh my so cool! and 2 pools not well painted or kept up to date but clean and big. small one only outdoors, and a spa we again didnt find time to use was at beach. Town is only 10mins drive away and all other towns easy drive too. Book here you will love it and so will the kids, minw 17 and 14 where kept busy. Would stay again!

I spent a week at Nepean Country Club with my girlfiend during our third visit to Australia. We stayed in one of the self-contained apartments and found the facilities perfect for our needs. The rooms were large and had all the required facilities (comfortable bed, TV, kitchen, shower, bath etc) - however we were surprised that no-one came to change our linens/towels whilst we were out. We didn't try the fitness suite but did go to the swimming pool and jacuzzi which were very much in keeping with the rest of the site - very well kept and clean. We did notice the other facilities such as the boating lake but didn't try them out as most of our time was spent either in Melbourne or elsewhere on the Mornington Peninsula.
Be wary that if you intend to stay at the Nepean a car or some kind of transport is pretty much essential as the nearest town, Rosebud, is 5km away.
You'll need a car to buy food from the local supermarkets (There's a pretty good Aldi and Woolworths in Rosebud) as eating at the cafe or buying any groceries from the shop is very expensive (If you consider $4 for a handful of teabags pricey). In fact most of the additional services at Nepean are expensive (wi-fi internet, new towels etc) and I got the feeling that the proprietors were trying to maximise their income once their timeshare slots had gone. We visited the information desk several times to ask about local sights/activities etc and found the girls very helpful and friendly.
All in all I don't have any complaints about this place and I wouldn't rule out visiting again if I had the choice.
