We recently had lunch at The Tributary, and were greatly impressed. The food was superb, the portions overly generous, and the prices more than reasonable. It's hard to find food of that caliber in today's world of chain restaurants and cookie cutter food choices. I had the delicious, warm tomato/cream/parmesan cheese soup and a huge salad with one of their homemade salad dressings, raspberry viniagrette. My husband and daughter had the salad with pecan/pankno encrusted chicken breast strips and homemade balsamic viniagrette - both delicious. The only negative I can think of is that the service was very slow, but when the food finally arrived, it was worth the wait. We can't wait to go back.

We stopped in The Tributary recently and were somewhat disappointed. We ordered lasagna, which turned out to be nothing more than lasagna noodles with a little plain meat in-between the layers. No sauce, no cheese, no spices that could be detected in the lasagna itself. The cheese and sauce were simply poured over the "lasagna" but the sauce was not particularly tasty, and the cheese was in clumps within the sauce. Had they cooked the sauce and cheese in-between the layers, it might have been more tasteful. Salads, as usual are plentiful and tasty. They do have some really delicious menu selections, but the prices are inflated more than just a little. And, the last cheeseburger we had seemed to have a different type of ground beef. It definitely was not the same tasteful meat they have had in the past. Let's hope The Tributary, like most restaurants that start out successful because of quality products has not decided to go the way of others, i.e., lower quality ingredients. We will try them again, but if disappointed a third time, we will find another restaurant that we know we can count on for delicious, quality foods. Having said all this, they have the best desserts anywhere!

There were not may options for restaurants in this smaill town, but the food was good. The service was slow but the food was worth the wait. This is a unique restaurant in a small town with out many options. We were there for lunch and the dinner menu looked better. Definitely worth the stop.

After a long day of motorcycling, we ate at the Tributary before returning to our B&B for the night. Service is very good, but be aware that it takes a while for meals to be prepared here. It is worth the wait.

Chose the restaurant based on the visual displays on webpage and most of the reviews were positive.

For appetizers we had the salad it had some brown hard pieces of lettuce too much salad dressing. We had sweet potato friesand they were luke warm and you could taste the frying oil.

My husband had spagetti with meatballs - the sauce tasted like someone tossed the noodles in a can of tomato paste, noodles were not al dente yet! Three meatballs were sausage meatballs which the menu never mentioned and was never offered any cheese.

I chose seafood stuffed manicotti, I must have high expectations the manicotti noodles were swimming in a funky white sauce that didnt compliment the seafood. The middle of the two manicottis were luke warm at best.

The county is dry but the bourbon chocolate cake makes up for it tooooo much bourbon.

Take the extra 15 minutes and drive to Boone NC they cute little restaurants and some food chains to satisfy your appetite. Never going back!
