Rubys Queenscliff
Ranked #3 of 9 Queenscliff B&B and Inns
Reviewed May 27, 2012

After calling almost every B & B in Queenscliffe, only to be told I had to book 2 nights, we were at our wits end! Then we stumbled on Rubys. Noelle accepts 1 night reservations and because we booked the day before, we also scored a nice discount!

We loved Rubys Cape Cod Architecture and the upstairs Deluxe Suite has lovely polished floor boards, a cozy gas fireplace, cascading ceilings and lots of light. There's plenty of room with three sitting areas and a large open bedroom.

The only gripe I had was the kitchenette could use a workbench and a sink. However, it has a microwave, and a small bar fridge, a toaster, kettle and 2 burner hotplate. So more than adequate to make a breakfast, or in our case, reheat our mexican feast for dinner.

The location is central to the restaurants and shops and a 15 minute stroll to the harbour.

I'd definitely stay at Rubys again.

I stayed overnight with my 2 grandchildren at Ruby;s Red, I found the location fantastic and the appartment 2 was great for us. Easy walking distance to the town centre, and the appt was lovely and clean. I would definately stay again, thanks Noelle.

Fortunately for us Ruby Red in Hobson St was available. It was a bit of a gamble because although we knew Noelle, we were unfamiliar with the Swan Bay end of Hobson St. and the B&B she had there. We need not have had any worries, Noelle was the perfect host as ever. Realising that we were staying for 5 nights, Noelle managed to arrange our accommodation so that we had full kitchen facilities for as long as possible. Over the stay we spent time in Ruby Red appts 1 and 2, and both were right up to standard. The house is only a few hundred meters from the tourist train line and Swan Bay and walking distance to the Marine Centre and town centre. The clear glass bathroom sink in appt. 1 is something that takes your breath away at first!

Loved it! 2 steps from main street in Queenscliff. We had the room on the second floor and it was really spacious and quiet. I would go back anytime. Only downside, it looks like a bed and breakfast, but without the breakfast! Although they have all the facilities for guests to make their own brekkie.

Staying at Ruby's is a wonderful experience - our 2 nights were fantastic - right from the warm friendly greeting from Noelle through to the perfect location and stylish accommodation.
We could have happily stayed longer if we had had the time - thanks Noelle and Ralph

I've returned to Ruby's over and over, because it's the nicest place in Queenscliff. Noelle and Ralph have perfected the art of making you incredibly welcome, without ever intruding (something that not all places manage!). The accommodation is first class class - stylish and attractively decorated, as well as comfortable, with everything you could need. Good coffee, milk and ice in the fridge, warm in winter, cool in summer, quiet and peaceful... From upstairs, you can watch the sun come up from the huge windows. But downstairs is kinda cosy and spacious as well.

When I first started going, I also tried a few of the other places, but once I came across Ruby's, I looked no further. They are much nicer and look after me far better than any of them. And then you can walk around the corner to half a dozen places to eat, or eat in.
