"Ordinary" food cooked to extra-ordinary standards. These folks know and care about food and ingredients, and it shows. One of those places you always hope to find a a country by-way and almost never do. The fish and chips were world-class, the duck a little luxury. Desserts are for people who really enjoy desserts and not so worried about fancy plating (or tiny waistlines).
If we are ever within a 100k radius again, we would definitely go back. A gem.

Best, freshest food I have had at a restaurant for a long time. The owner and staff were very helpful, especially catering for my Coeliac Disease. It was so good we ate there 2 nights in a row.
I'm tempted to drive several hours back there just to have their food again (fellow Coeliacs, take note!)

Breakfast for 2 and a few coffees for $45. Really relaxed place, we each had eggs with bacon and avocado and tomato and coffees. Good portions, fresh and tasty. Coffee very good too. Nice staff. Nice service. Nice place. Plenty of options on menu I wouldn't entertain anywhere else's in port Albert apart from fish and chips down beside wildfish.

When you're sitting at your table and the kitchen hand is sitting on the bench in the kitchen in full view of the restaurant swinging his legs while picking his teeth with a toothpick. When asked to stop doing it by wait staff he spends the whole night chomping on the toothpick while eyeballing our table. Ruined what was supposed to be our anniversary dinner!
