We stayed one night. This family run motel/guesthouse was full with other families. Service was good and personal, no comercialised vanila forced smiles but genuine customer service. Price was acceptable too.
Old style building, don't expect latest state of the art technology but that might be the key to a good rest. Clean throughout. Walking distance to lighthouse, beach, shops and supermarket.

I had the occasion to stay at the guesthouse for a prolonged stay(4 weeks) while my wife was in Geelong Hospital.
During my stay, hosts Peter and Sue could not do enough to make my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible under the the circumstances, they arranged interconnecting rooms so as my adult children could stay on weekends.
The rooms were cosy, very comfortable and spotless.
The dining room and bar are very welcoming as well as the lounge TV room. The Friday Night Parma is one of the best.
The community kitchen is very well appointed and saved me a fortune in meals as some of the local resturants are great but expensive.
The Guesthouse decor is in the nautical theme, keeping the historical atmosphere of the Point Lonsdale area.
The rates are very reasonable and I would recommend it to anyone on a budget who wants a comfortable, non prentious stay in this area.
Regards Tony Carlin

Room Tip: Rear rooms have easier access to community kitchen if you intend doing your own cooking.

We found this place on the Internet and booked the standard room but when we arrived we got a upgrade to the terminus room.
The room is great , close to the town and the owners are great to deal with.
Recommend to all for a place to stay at point Lonsdale.

Anyone who complains about either the accomadation or hosts need a either serious dose of perspective and reality. Anyone rating these premises as poor has standards that clearly rival the queen.

The main building is over 130 years old. Given the age of the building it is well kept and presented. If you are looking at modern accomadation then you might want to look at something built in the last 10 years.

Peter and Sue are ore than accomodating for any requests, not that there is much you need that is not already provided. Breakfasts are great and the parma nights on a Friday night are magnificent.

Get involved in Christmas in July for a truely great experience.

Whether it is for a family vacation or a weekend away with your partner, the Point Lonsdale guestnhouse provides a truely great experience.

We stayed here for one night in one of the back motel type rooms. This is definitely 2 star accommodation. The bathroom you couldn't swing a mouse in let alone a cat. You wouldnt want to have a weight problem as you wouldnt get inf the shower as only half the door opens up. The room next door put their bathroom fan on and we thought a helicopter was landing close by. No table to go with the chairs in the room so we had to make cuppas inside the cupboard and a some mugs would have been nice like next door room had instead of the mini teacups that we had. Breakfast while a good serve our scrambled eggs were STONE cold and the male owner felt it ok to listen in on our conversation and pass comment that he had been listening to the sermon she had delivered ....RUDE BUGGAR...we were also to be quiet when we returned from our Blues train dinner as the other guests right s need to be respected HOWEVER the next morning our rights were not respected with the large group, that was there with their noise!!! Definitely WOULD NOT RETURN.

Room Tip: Get an upstairs room if you have to so that you don't get the noise from the walking up and down.....but really don't bother old and tired
