Made a booking not long before we got there on a Saturday night for four people. No problems. Had a table close to the kitchen, but again not a problem. We shared the dips and bread – fresh and interesting and plenty for all four of us. However, all mains are ‘large’. Large pizzas, large pastas. No other size available, but we were informed that we could take away what we couldn’t eat. At approximately $25 (give or take a dollar or two more for most) for each main pasta or pizza this seemed to be a bit much. And, yes it was. The pastas were served, but really far too much for even the males to get through. The pizza was also too much for one person to eat. Someone wrote that the pizzas have a very thin crust. Very typical Italian and not something that would not make us purchase one again. But…..pizza toppings ‘very light on’…whilst the flavour is very interesting and pleasurable, there needed to be a little more to cover the whole ‘large pizza’, not just the middle section of the pizza. The pastas were far too much for anyone to finish and really just a waste, even if you can take the leftovers home. My advice would be to forget about ordering a meal each and just share a pizza or pasta (after having their delicious dips). The service was good, but before we finished eating the kitchen was being cleaned and the smell of ammonia wafted through to our table, forcing us to make a hasty exit. Given that there were still quite a number of diners still eating (it wasn’t like we were the last customers and we were being given a bit of a hint to leave) it was not a pleasant experience. Would we go there again? If we are in the area; yes, but we would not order the pizza, we would probably more likely share the dips and then a pasta. The place has potential and is putting together some interesting flavours worth trying. BUT……. they need to be less excessive with their portions and therefore their prices and the place would be a more exciting place to visit, enabling you to try a few more dishes at a reduced price. A little more interesting than just trying to force yourself to finish a meal that very few would be able to do…….perhaps then we might have splashed out and ordered desert????? (But not at the meal sizes and their equivalent prices). PS they have a $10 corkage charge, but given the price of the red that we took with us, was really quite reasonable and would not have purchased something of an equivalent price if we had just ordered a bottle of wine.

I would recommend this place for pizza and a casual meal.
Nothing fancy. Pizza's were good and people were friendly. The seating here was a little squishy.
I felt like i was sitiing on someones lap or sitting on someone elses table.

After waiting forever.
The Milkshake we received was supposed to be a strawberry and the other a caramel one.
The strawberry tasted like nothing and warm and the caramel like powder milk.
The 2 pizza's was small and thin like paper. The toppings , what toppings?
For $60 !!!!
I could have made all that myself much better and
so much more for half the price.
Thanks for ripping us off we won't reccomend you at all.
If this is the way you go into 2013 please close the doors cause u are Crap.

It was a promising start - pleasant front staff who happily accommodated our non-booked table for 8 at lunchtime on a pleasant Saturday. Menus came promptly, quickly followed by our drinks.

We placed an order for 2 mixed dips, 4 pizzas and 2 salads. The mixed dips & bread came and it was quite yummy. That unfortunately was the high point. The wait for our pizzas and salad ticked by and it was then increasingly difficult to find staff. The wait soon became an hour at which point we walked to the counter to check on our order. We were told they were very busy but assured us they have our four pizzas as the next order for the oven, and we would be served in 10 minutes. Well, that 10 minutes became half an hour with still no pizzas. Upon re-checking with the counter ourselves again - as the staff had disappeared by now - we were told they were still not yet ready to go in the oven. Well, that was 1.5 hours of waiting since the mixed dips with no sign of when we could expect the mains to follow.

At this point, we paid for our mixed dips and drinks - and left.

The front counter was mildly apologetic but that is simply not good enough. This is a well advertised restaurant situated in a prominent strip right in the heart of a tourist mecca stop in the Mt Dandenong area. In my view, they should have either not seated us knowing their single wood fired oven would not cope with the orders already at hand or told us to order something else instead from the very start (as the table next to ours who ordered a la carte did get their meals). It was extremely disappointing to have waited for our food which did not show up in the end. We were certainly not alone - other tables were similarly agitated with food no-shows!

This tourist destination is one of those places one would take visitors to Melbourne to and unfortunately, this restaurant is an embarrassment. It shows off the worst of Australia's poor service culture and regretfully, all-too-often experience.

Nothing makes me want to go back here or bring any more visitors to this establishment.
