Lunch on Sunday with family - adults and kids. Views are of backyard (kitchen garden) and street. Decor is plain.
Meals were good size, flavour and presented well.

We had (many) pork belly mains, terrine/pate starters, seafood linguine, fish, soup of the day, chicken and desserts (sticky date pudding, dessert sharing plate, gelato). Absolutely no complaints about quality of food! The accompaniments were presented well and a few were unusual such as sliced baked apple with the pork. Note:the chicken breast was a roll with moroccan/Harissa stuffing but unusually (in modern Australian cuisine) it came with the skin on!!! Did not eat the skin but it kept moisture and imparted flavour to the chicken.

The entire meal showed excellent attempts by head chef to present different foods in an innovative fashion.

Service was excellent and then it got busy :( but still very attentive service.

In order to celebrate my wife's birthday the family decided to choose Wild Oak Cafe and the decision was undoubtedly the right one. The Welcome was awesome and we felt very much as regulars. It was an amazing experience and the food was great. If anyone on Trip Advisor decides to choose this lovely, homely and welcoming cafe up in the Mount Dandenongs we truly recommend it. Simply AWESOME. Keep up the great work.

My girlfriend Nicole and I had the privilege of having lunch at the Wild Oak Cafe last weekend. It was not my first time. We were delighted with the whole experience...Ben and his team have really mastered the art of fine cuisine. My risotto with tiger prawns was just divine, cooked in squid ink, and we shared the most perfectly delectable creme brulee as a dessert. The Yarra Valley wines recommended were a wonderful complement to the meal. Service was also A1. All in all, a repast to die for! Well done guys...

We enjoyed the food here it was very nice and wine reasonably priced. We ended up in one of the private dinning areas which was nice, it was our anniversary and they had a jazz band playing, i did request a nice table maybe by the window but when we got there we were going to be plonked right in front of the band which would have made it impossible to talk. It all worked out in the end and we had a wonderful night when they took us to the dinning area around the back. Only thing we were upset about was the free car transfers which were cancelled 2 hours prior to us coming and that was half the reason we booked this place and recommendations. We both wanted to enjoy a few glasses on wine on our anniversary and after speaking with them on the phone we were lead along the lines that it may be possible for a taxi but the lady who owns the the cottages we were staying at said there really aren't any around, which i thought was strange.

We actually thought this place would be amazing going by the reviews. Love that the kitchen is open in the restaurant and the service was perfect.
Only two gripes, we were crammed in like sardines, my chair backed onto someone elses chair.....and the duck (which is usually my favourite) sat on a pile of carrot mush that resembled baby food.
