Great Museum for Vietnam Vet families and also for the history. Wonderful artefacts and taking Dad along for the tour was the best. Having someone who served there & showing me the history made it more Well done and please visit

We visited here on 19th April after spotting it on our way to Phillip Island and what a great find. For only $10 each it was the cheapest museum we had visited while in Oz and definitely the best, you could literally spend hours in it. The personal items were so poignant but it was the wall of photos of all the lads who died that really got to me, they all looked so very young. It was a real eye opener for me and a great history lesson. I have to admit to a few tears at the end of sound and light display once Waltzing Mathilda started up, but you would have to be made of stone not to be affected by it. They have everything in here from photos, uniforms, tanks, jeeps and a Canberra bomber that is being lovingly restored at the back. We finished our visit by walking around the lovely garden of rememberance. This is somewhere everyone should visit, the staff were fantastic they were obviously passionate about their work and they answered all our questions. If you are visiting give yourself at least 2hrs to get around all the exhibits, this is not somewhere you can rush around.
