This is a wonderful place to bring kids and or tourist to see the parade of the worlds smallest penguins march from the Ocean to their homes at sundown! Brilliant. Be advised no picture taking allowed because the light scares the lil penguins!

My husband and I rented a park cabin (one bedroom, no bath) for $75 during the low season. The price for one night was a bit high considering it was winter. The cabin was freezing despite having a very small space heater on all night that made lots of noise. The mattress was about as comfortable as sleeping on the floor. The decor is run down and worn out although quite clean. Apparently there is a "strict" rule that no dogs are allowed in the park although I could not find this policy on their website or on park grounds. My husband was very rudely hassled about this rule upon checkout. They pointed at a sign in the office where the policy is displayed. The office closed an hour before we checked in so therefore we did not see the sign until we returned our keys. Those who travel with their pets are already limited to a very small selection of places to stay...I never thought a caravan park would have given us such trouble. We got the "stink eye" as we drove away. Overall, not a very pleasant experience.

Myself and my partner stayed here for one night, camping in our tent. we arrived around 4pm, got checked in and told the receptionist we were heading to the Penguin Parade and she advised us on how long it would take to get there and what time the penguins would arrive, she was very helpful. Found the staff really friendly and also found the toilets/showers clean as well. The camp kitchen needed a bit of a clean but it was fine. We also were glad for the heaters in the kitchen as we stayed here during the winter. All in all would return here again :)

We stayed here because of the BIG 4 name. The location is very good, the beach is very safe for little kids and the amenities are all good. We booked a standard cabin which was basic but had all that you could possibly need. The decor is quite old and could use some updating but everything was spotless. Reception was friendly, informative and efficient. The cabin was absolutely tiny, not sure how you could fit 2 adults and 2 kids with luggage in it. We had a similar layout standard cabin in another BIG 4 park which was about twice the size of this one. The cabins in this park are extremely close together, as they do not have the parking spots in between cabins as other parks but in front of them, so you can almost touch your neighbour's wall - this makes for very very crowded conditions when the park is full and it also makes it extremely noisy. In addition the standard cabins have the feel of a fish bowl, as the front windows go from ceiling to the floor and there are windows everywhere on each side, so it feels like a glasshouse - lots of light but little privacy and you hear everything. I slept with earplugs.
Compared to other more modern BIG 4 parks, this one is ok but nothing to write home about. Next time we might check out a different park for more tranquility and privacy. Ok for 1-2 nights but would not want to spend a longer holiday here.

Room Tip: Try to book at the back of the park as there is less traffic and away from jumping pillow/amenities if youc an.
