“Easter weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

We stayed here on our road trip up to Portland.
Our booking was for there amazing cabins. On the day of departure I called to confirm our booking and to my surprise they accidently double booked us so we had no choice but to stay in the rooms above the pub. I was a little upset as I really didn’t want to share a bathroom and shower with other room users. We arrived at 12:30 am and to our surprise the owner was waiting for us outside in the cold. He was so sweet and wanted to carry our bags upstairs. He said he was sorry over 5 times and was so kind. He showed us to our room and drew a map of where everything was in town and asked if we wanted he’d wake up early and make us breakfast. There was no one in the other rooms anyway so really we had the bathrooms to ourselves.
The room was a double bed and was extremely clean.
The bathroom was a bathroom that you would have in your own home. Couldn’t have asked for more.

had to stay for a week with work. there is about 4-5 (?) Cabins set back off main road behind the pub/hotel so they areshielded from road noise. Nice and clean with 2 bedrooms and a big kitchen area with lounge and TV and good heating! they beat the usual motel style room (not available anywhere in town in anycase!). Thin wall construction means noise from neighbouring cabins can be a problem if you get bad neighbours - see if you can asked to be spaced out from the other occupied cabins if possible

Great stay and clean. A little on the expensive side but your hardly spoilt for choice in Natimuk.. The bistro food was excellent.

We stayed in one of the cabins out back. We booked the cabin by phone and initially I was dubious about the cheap price. When we got there I was surprised to find the cabin was one of the cleanest, spacious and new that I had stayed in for a long time. Very handy if you are looking for accommodation in this area.

I stayed here for a few nights recently and was impressed as usually aussie country pubs are cosy and good in the bar and bistro; but the rooms are usually dilapidated. This one defies the trend and hosts kathy and John run a good little hotel. It has been renovated and the happy chef Jen will cook up a storm for you. You can't fail to be impressed, whether you stay in the rooms or the cabins. And don't just visit if you are a climber -- it's a great place to kick back and relax. I plan to visit again soon to do just that.

The hotel has both rooms and cabin accommodation just behind the hotel. We chose the latter, since this was more appropriate to our requirements as climbers. But the cabins were superb - clean, all mod cons, air conditioning. In addition, the hotel bar is immediately adjacent, with associated bar or restaurant food. Would definitely recommend to anybody climbing or passing through that area.

Visitors have been deterred from the region by reports of lack of water and having to bring in one's own. But this is nonsense. Although there are drought conditions, this in no way affects daily living, with plenty of water for for showers etc.
