We spent two nights in a luxury self contained cottage. Spotless, comfortable and all you need for a relaxing stay. Views breathtaking, grounds pretty, "farm sounds" (cows, ducks, etc) lovely! The restaurant is decorated with rustic country charm, the beer garden is a great place to enjoy a glass of local wine and share a platter. Food fantastic - I cannot fault this place! Can't wait to return. Hosts exceptional, nothing is too much trouble - they put you at ease straight away.

They are just simple, very tiny little pre fab units, about 8 of them, or you can pay a little more for newer cottages that are unit like, with lounge, kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. Under no circumstances should you expect (motel like) flashy digs with technology and all mod cons. If however, you are happy to just chill and feed the parrots at your door you'll like it here. They are so tame and have learned to hang out for our seaweed crackers, in fact as we were leaving one little pest came in the door and would not get off the couch.

A happy Kookaburra sits nearby, a very large dam/lake that apparently has trout ( a tourist myth methinks- caught nothing) is thirty steps away and a gorgeous raging stream runs through this huge property at the foot of a mountain. The owners don't plough much in (magazines from 1992?) and don't stress about your TV not working, but that doesn't mean they don't care. Very happy for you to wander the property, as long as you shut the gates, but there's nothing much to do if you don't like walking or fishing. We adored the whole thing, and have done so many flash places we've lost count, and we are not even nature lovers. The point is, it's not ragey or sophisticated, but peaceful and simple, and our accommodation was miniature to us and a touch old fashioned. The bed was heaven, the shower water hot and strong, and that's always my major relief.
We took off for drives up to Lake Mountain and to Eildon weir, and to Alexandria and it's dear little Irish pub and expensive eateries as well. Marysville was as dead as a dodo, but they are trying hard and rebuilding. Beautiful little organic café opposite where the big convention centre is being built in the main street. We took some food, which was wise at this time of year, and jammed it into the little fridge, pretty glad of our wine and cheese when everything closes early. Tony is very proud of the newish little kitchen with BBQ, washing machine, table and cutlery - situated just outside the units beside the dam/lake with no fish. Met other travellers, and amazing how many repeat customers, all saying "Ah, the serenity" despite no fitness centre. (Lol)

There is absolutely nothing to complain about here, and I'm sure they do a raging trade in the snow season, when the bunnies are out all day and want a warm bed. When leaving the city just do not take unrealistic expectations, enjoy the lovely hospitality, bring a good book and try and catch a trout. Marysville still needs you.

Room Tip: The cottages with two bedrooms are newer, more like little houses with new kitchens. We would aim for one of those next time, without family.

Selected this B&B for its range of amenities and relaxing on-farm atmosphere (for me) and proximity to Granton (for my husband) where he was to compete in a downhill mountain biking comp. The outlook from the luxury cottage was beautiful and uninterrupted in all directions, surrounded by cows grazing, tall gums and tree-lined horizons. Being a rainy weekend allowed the chance to relax and do little more, which we were able to given the privacy onsite. The hosts of the B&B were friendly and welcoming, providing as little or as much information desired. Overall a great weekend away in an amazing part of Victoria.

Room Tip: Luxury cottage at the far end is a winner!

We stayed at Maryton for 2 nights in early September. We stayed in the luxury cottages and it was even better than what I thought it would be. The cottage was absolutely spotless and fresh. Loved the fireplace!! The grounds were just beautiful and a breath of fresh air from our city living. The kids couldn't stop taking in the views. Tony and Penni put so much work and effort into the property, we really appreciated it. They are just a joy and couldn't ask for nicer people to run a property. We loved Tony's cooked breaky in the morning overlooking the glorious garden. Thanks so much and will be back again for another glorious stay!! Good luck and only the very best to you both.

We stayed for 5 nights and had an amazing relaxing time, which is what we needed.
Penni & Tony were wonderful hosts. Greeted us always with a smile and ready to help us in anyway way they could & where afford all the privacy we needed.
We cooked for ourselves, which with having a Chef as a hubby was exactly what we wanted. (Definitely have their breakfast & dinners there next time) Fire heating was fantastic and when needed in the morning the centre heating was perfect.
Perfect little place of paradise. We have left Maryton Park with every intention of going back as much as we can. Will recommend this place to everyone.

Thank you Penni & Tony for our lovely stay.
