“Don't just limit yourself to Piper Street”

Piper Street comes alive from Thursday to Sunday each week. Highly recommend the little swallow for tapas, a light lunch or all day breakfast. The coffee is amazing. The indian restaurant is fantastic and seems to be getting better with each visit. If you venture outside piper street check out Ruby's cafe in Mollison street. Or for a nice Pub meal - the RSL is worth a shot for something more budget. Kyneton has a lovely botanical gardens so that is also worth checking out.

“Eclectic Mix of Shops, Cafes and Restaurants wrapped in History but avoid quiet days”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

Piper St is worth it!

If you like history and great shops explore: Kapital for industrial Antiques, Pick Up Stiches for knitting and quilt, Garden Centre, Sketching and Art supplies, high end Ladies Coats, Gloves etc...add a local made designer Children Wear and a genuine French Homewares Store are some of the shops that await...add Very Good Florist!

Eating is best at Annie Smithers: fine french, Inner Biscuit: vego organic with pastry chef quality cakes, Mt Carisi for middle easter tapas and filling exotic mains. Dharba at the Mill for real deal Indian. Little Swallow Cafe for honest cafe breakkie. Avoid Kyneton Bakery unless you want a typical country bakery pie.

Every second Saturday of the Month is Famers Market: 9am to 1pm. Live Chickens, Pate, Preserves, Eggs, Local Veggies and Organic Beef and Pork, etc...check it is really local simp;e ask as some blows in try to crash in. I.e: pineapples don't grow here!

AVOID Monday and Tuesday as this is when the locals close so it will be dead.

“Unexpected quality and standard of food”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

On a recent day trip from Melbourne, my friends and I chose to grab a bite at one of the local watering holes. What a surprise, not your average pub grub I must say. The beautifully presented food was equal in flavor. Having eaten at many of the better restaurants in Melbourne we could not believe the standard of food in this venue. Sticky pork belly, pressed duck and duck risotto had amazing flavoues and attention to detail. The Piper St hotel definitely a diamond in the rough.
