The food was adequate, but waiting for 30 minutes for soup and a mezzo plate was a bit sad. And then, when we enquired we were told that 'they're just plating it up now. 10 minutes later the food appeared. Methinks they forgot.
No apology
Very disappointing

The coffee was very good. The food was unexceptional but perfectly adequate. The service was passive-aggressive with a borderline rude flavour. Query why some people engage in an enterprise which requires a pleasant public interface (at least as a starting point), but perhaps she was just having a bad day.

I can't rate this place highly enough. I have never in 2 years of going here have had a bad coffee, the baristas are always consistent. It's probably better than most Melb coffeehouses. The food is lovely and reasonably priced. The menu only has a few things on it but each of them done well. The inside is cute and cosy and the staff are welcoming and helpful. Try it, you won't be disappointed

The Little Swallow Cafe is a local treasure as well as a great place for tourists to enjoy the ambience of a small and thriving town. Set on historic Piper Street, the Little Swallow provides its patrons with World-class coffee (I am a coffee fiend, and this is truly brilliant coffee), and an excellent breakfast and lunch menu featuring fresh local produce. Service is always friendly, prompt and helpful. Owner, Steve Rogers, has cooked in Paris and worked for some years with Jacques Reymond in Melbourne. The daily Specials on the lunch-board are superb and well worth trying. The cafe is small, vibrant and full of local characters. It's a gem. Try it.

I really love this breakfast, tasty and satisfying in a little cafe across the road from Piper Street Kyneton's Farmer's Market. Of course it is open on non-market days too. A top hatted chef in an unassuming cafe.

Wonderful!
