We had a week in Melbourne, and with a day left before flying back to Sydney we wanted to get out of town. Kyneton Ridge is perfectly situated about 40 minutes north of the airport, which is why we chose here.
We loved it. The property is simply spectacular and we really enjoyed a winter walk through the gardens. The wine is simply devine. We bought a bottle to drink back in our room. We stayed on the weeekend so the fire was on in the cellar door and warmed our souls.
Exceptional hospitality from John and Pauline. I feel like they are old friends. Would recommend to anyone looking for a weekend getaway.

Room Tip: Upgrade and go for the big room at the back with the spa.

Lovely setting and property. Nice room and facilities, but poor service. We always felt like we were in the way, and the food was really average. The breakfast was very basic and we tried a tasting plate at the cellar door and it just seemed to be supermarket dips and veggies..quite disappointing.
The bathroom could also have been a bit cleaner, lots of hairs in the spa and shower.

We stayed one night at this B&B at a winery a short drive from the town of Kyneton, but we wished we could have stayed longer. Friendly, helpful hosts, lovely room, pleasant scenery, quiet bedroom, nice home-cooked breakfast. The clean, well-maintained and up-to-date accommodation has all the facilities you need, but with a peaceful old-style country feel to it. Staying at a working vineyard and winery adds a local dimension you might not find in town. A few minutes (10 at most?) into town, but for us this was a bonus rather than a drawback as the setting was so appealing. The hosts Pauline and John were happy to chat about the history and amenities of the district, and were on hand when needed, but we enjoyed our own space and privacy during our stay. The atmosphere at this place was worth every dollar. (Navigating tip: Along the Kyneton-Heathcote Rd, driving north from Kyneton from Edgecombe St, ignore the first sign to Kyneton Ridge, it leads to a back entrance; go on to the second Kyneton Ridge sign.)

We have 2 entrances, B&B guests should come in the front gate from Foxes Lane (the second turn off - Look for a small blue B&B sign). Unfortunately due to council regulations we must advise Cellar Door guests to enter via Hallorans Lane. Look for the large Kyneton Ridge tourist sign and drive down the sealed road to access the cellar door entrance.
